The Delhi High Court on Thursday (19.09.2024) issued notice to sacked IAS officer Puja Khedkar on a perjury application filed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) accusing her of laying in the court.

The court, which is hearing anticipatory bail plea of Khedkar, sought her reponse to UPSC’s perjury application and scheduled the matter for further hearing on September 26.

According to the UPSC, Khedkar provided false information to her senior counsel, leading to incorrect submissions before the court. In its perjury application, the UPSC argued that Khedkar lied under oath by filing a false affidavit with her bail application. The UPSC contends that while the order Khedkar is challenging was issued on July 31, 2024, her sworn affidavit is dated July 28, 2024.

Hence, the UPSC has called for an inquiry against Khedkar and has sought her prosecution for perjury.
