In a significant reshuffle, the Delhi government on Saturday (August 23, 2025) re-assigned three senior IPS officers, bringing changes to key leadership roles in Delhi Police.
Senior IPS officer SBK Singh (IPS:1988:AGMUT), who recently held the additional charge of Commissioner of Police (CP) Delhi for 21 days, has been appointed as Director General, Prisons. His posting comes after DG Prisons Satish Golcha (IPS:1992:AGMUT) was appointed as the new Commissioner of Delhi a day after the attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta.
Meanwhile, Virendra Singh Chahal (IPS:1991:AGMUT), earlier serving in the Licensing & Legal Division as Special CP, has been transferred as the Director General of Civil Defence.
Similarly, Nuzhat Hassan (IPS:1991:AGMUT), who was posted as Special CP in the Human Resources Division, has been appointed as the new Director General of Home Guard, placing her in charge of Delhi’s Home Guard force.
