The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) of the Delhi government took action on Wednesday by registering a corruption case against IAS officer Amarnath Talwade (IAS:2009:AGMUT). The case stems from allegations that Talwade pressured a subordinate to collect money from liquor vendors. A Noida resident filed the complaint, providing an audio clip of a conversation between Talwade and the subordinate as evidence. Forensic examination confirmed the authenticity and lack of tampering in the audio clip.

Earlier on January 20, the Lieutenant Governor (L-G) had directed the registration of a case against the IAS officer based on a purported audio clip.

As of now, the officer has not made any public statement in response to the registered case. However, Talwade had previously denied the allegations, stating that they are “baseless and without any iota of truth.
