Senior IPS officer Daljit Singh Chaudhary (IPS:1990:UP) has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (28.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment Mr Chaudhary to the post for tenure upto the date of his retirement on 30.11.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Prior to this appointment, he was serving as DG of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) with additional charge of DG BSF.
Notably, on August 2, the incumbent DG of BSF Nitin Agrawal (IPS:1989:KL) was repatriated to his parent cadre Kerala and next day the charge of the post of BSF DG was given to Daljit Singh Chaudhary.
