D Gautam Sawang appointed as DG, Vigilance and Enforcement, Andhra Pradesh

Damodar Gautam Sawang (IPS:1986:AP), Commissioner of Police, Vijayawada, has been transferred and posted as the Director General of Vigilance and Enforcement and ex-officio Principal Secretary to the Government of Andhra Pradesh.

Gautam Sawang was in the race till the last minute for the post of DGP. But, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had chosen R P Thakur, former DG of ACB in the last minute. Later, speculations were rife that Sawang too would be transfered and may be elevated to the State-level post.
