Rajiv Ranjan (IPS: 2005: SK), who currently holds the position of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), has been laterally moved to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as a DIG. This lateral shift has been sanctioned by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, as stated in an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training on Tuesday, October 31, 2023.
Mr. Ranjan’s appointment to the CBI will span a combined period of five years, effective from the date he assumes his responsibilities or until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earlier, with an end date of May 30, 2026.
