Corrupt officials to be denied passports

The central government employees under suspension or facing prosecution will not be able to obtain passports. According to the Personnel Ministry, mandatory vigilance clearance in such cases will be put on hold.      

All departments will have to check whether their employee is attracting any provision of section 6(2) of the Passport Act, 1967 while obtaining a passport.
