The Chhattisgarh government on Friday (21.06.2024) appointed Ajay Singh (Retd IAS: 1983: CG) as new State Election Commissioner. The former Chief Secretary of the state, has been given the command of the new State Election Commissioner of Chhattisgarh after the Lok Sabha elections got over.
Ajay Singh has served as Collector of Sidhi, Sehore, and Jabalpur in United Madhya Pradesh. He has also held the position of Additional Commissioner, Commercial Tax in Bhopal. After retirement, he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the State NITI Ayayog. Now, he has been given responsibilities of State Election Commissioner.
