The Chandigarh administration on Friday afternoon relieved Home Secretary Nitin Yadav (IAS:2000:HY) following Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) orders, allowing him to join his new assignment as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce with the Government of India.
The Chandigarh administration has allocated the charge of Home Secretary and other responsibilities previously held by Nitin Yadav to Finance Secretary Vijay Namdeorao Zade (IAS:2002:PB), in addition to his existing duties.
It is important to note that Zade is also set to be relieved soon, as his one-month extended tenure ends on June 18. His initial three-year tenure was set to expire on May 19, but a month’s extension was granted due to the Lok Sabha election, as he was also serving as the Chief Electoral Officer, Chandigarh.
