Centre yet to notify Sanjay Kothari’s appointment as CVC

Two months have passed since he was selected as the new Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC), but Sanjay Kothari is still awaiting a notification to be issued by the government. Presently serving as the Secretary to the President, Kothari was selected as the new CVC on February 29, 2020.

The congress leader in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was the only member in the panel, who had opposed Kothari’s selection while all other members had given their approval.

Meanwhile, Vigilance Commissioner Sharad Kumar was given interim charge of the post after K.V.Chowdhry’s term as CVC ended on June 09, 2019.
