The Union government on Wednesday (August 27, 2025) notified that Justice Shree Chandrashekhar, Judge of the Bombay High Court, will perform the duties of the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court. His appointment will take effect from the date Justice Alok Aradhe, current Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court, relinquishes charge following his elevation to the Supreme Court of India.
Similarly, Justice Pavankumar Bhimappa Bajanthri, Judge of the Patna High Court, has been designated to perform the duties of the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. His appointment will take effect from the date Justice Vipul M. Pancholi, Chief Justice of the Patna High Court, relinquishes charge upon his elevation as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
