The central government on Tuesday (July 1, 2025) extended the tenure of the Chairperson and Members of the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) by one year, allowing them to serve till June 30, 2026, or until further orders.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the extension for Chairperson Bhanu Pratap Sharma, a former Secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), and the part-time members of the Bureau, according to an official notification.
This marks the second consecutive year the FSIB’s term has been extended. The Bureau serves as the central headhunter for top-level appointments in state-owned banks and financial institutions.
