Centre extends deputation of IAS officer Pushpendra Rajput by one year

The Centre has extended the deputation tenure of IAS officer Pushpendra Rajput as Joint Secretary in Health & Family Welfare by one year.

The central deputation tenure of IAS officer Pushpendra Rajput (IAS:1999:HP) as Joint Secretary in the Department of Health & Family Welfare has been extended by one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (February 6, 2026), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the proposal to extend his tenure for a period of one year beyond November 29, 2025, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Pushpendra Rajput has been serving in the Department of Health & Family Welfare since March 2024, when he assumed charge as Joint Secretary for a combined tenure of seven years ending November 29, 2025. Earlier, he had joined the Centre on deputation as Additional Secretary (Joint Secretary level) in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on November 30, 2018, for a five-year term, which was later extended by three months until March 2024, before his current appointment in the Health & Family Welfare Department.
