In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Modi government has cleared the appointment of over 20 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:
- D Senthil Pandiyan (IAS:2002:UD) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH for a tenure of five years vice Roshan Jaggi (IFS:1988:JK).
- Ms. Nirupama Kotru (IRS IT:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & FA, Ministry of Coal for an overall tenure of five years upto 15.05.2023. She will replace Ms. Reena Sinha Puri (IRS-IT:1987).
- Bhaskar Verma (ICAS:1995) has been appointed as Member Secretary, National Monuments Authority (NMA), Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years vice Navneet Soni (IRS-IT:1988).
- Ms. Lily Pandeya (IRPS:1998) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture for a tenure of five years vice Padma L Sahu (ICAS:1991).
- Mayank Tewari (IRSME:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for a tenure of five years vice Ms Richa Misra (IDAS:1996).
- Ms Nazli Jafri Shayin (IA&AS:1999) has been appointed as Additional Financial Adviser & Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Defence (Finance) for an overall tenure upto 29.12.2021 vice Ashwini Kumar (IRS-IT:1988).
- Ms. Indira Murthy (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences for a tenure upto the date of her superannuation i.e. 30.04.2023. She replaces Vipin Chandra (IRS-IT:1987).
- Ms. Manisha Sinha (IPoS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Prashant Goyal (IAS:1993:UT).
- Ashish Vachhani (IAS:1997:TN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Arvind Shrivastava (IAS:1994:KN).
- Ms. Sandhya Bhullar (IAS:2003:GJ) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 31.03.2024 vice Sameer Kumar Khare (IAS:19989:AM).
- Bhuvnesh Kumar (IAS:1995:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information
Technology for a tenure of five Sanjay Goel (IRTS:1991). - Patibandla Ashok Babu (IAS:2003:AM) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of five years upto 25.08.2024 vice Manohar Agnani (IAS:1993:MP).
- Jeetendra Singh (IRSEE:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Heavy Industry for a tenure of five years vice Amit Vardhan (IRTS:1989).
- Sumant Singh (IAS:2003:MN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Home Affairs for an overall tenure of five years upto 03.12.2024 vice Krishna Bahadur Singh (IFS:1995:UT).
- Sanjiv Shankar (IRS-IT:1993) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Neerja Sekhar (IAS:1993:HY).
- Manoj Kumar (IRS-IT:1994) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management for a tenure of five years vice Nukala Venudhar Reddy (IIS:1988).
- Ms Veena Tamta Bhatia (IOFS:1988) has been appointed as Additional Central Provident Fund Commissioner (HQ), EPFO under the Ministry of Labour & Employment for a tenure upto the date of her superannuation i.e. 30.11.2023. She replaces Ms Rekha Yadav (IRPS:1995).
- Sonmoni Borah (IAS:1999:CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Land Resources for a tenure of five years or vice Hukum Singh Meena (IAS:1992:BH).
- Som Dutt Sharma (CSS) has been appointed as Director, ISTM, Department of Personnel & Training for a tenure of five years vice Ms Sunita H Khurana (CSS).
- Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra (IAS:1997:OR) has been appointed as Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination, National Recruitment Agency (NRA) under the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) for a tenure of five years against a newly created post.
