Centre effects bureaucratic reshuffle at Additional Secretary level

The Modi government on Monday late evening effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle and appointed seven officers in the rank of Additional Secretary in Govt of India and elevated (in-situ) eleven officers working as Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments.

The Modi government on Monday late evening effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle and appointed seven officers in the rank of Additional Secretary in Govt of India and elevated (in-situ) eleven officers working as Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are given below:

  1. Sanjeev Kumar Jindal (CSS:1989) has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Currently, he is working as Joint Secretary under MHA.
  2. Asit Gopal (IFoS:1990:MP) has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Textiles by cancelling the appointment of Shakeel P Ahammed (IAS:1995:AM).
  3. Tripti Gurha (IRTS: 1993) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development (M/o WCD). Currently, she is Joint Secretary, M/o WCD.
  4. Samir Kumar Sinha (IAS:1994:AM), presently serving in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Director General (Acquisition), Department of Defence.
  5. Bharat Harbanslal Khera (IAS:1995:HP), presently serving in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.
  6. Chandra Bhushan Kumar (IAS:1995:AGMUT), presently serving in the cadre, has been appointed as Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation. He replaces Vikas Sheel (IAS:1994:CG) upon his appointment as Executive Director, Asian Development Bank.
  7. Puja Singh Mandol (IA&AS:1995) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation. She replaces Alok Shekhar (IAS:1994:PB) upon his repatriation to parent cadre. Currently, she is Joint DG, Directorate General of Civil Aviation.

Further, eleven Joint Secretary rank officers serving in various ministries and departments were also upgraded (in-situ) to the level of Additional Secretary (Govt of India) as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them.

The list of officers goes as follows:

  1. Shubha Thakur (CSS: 1989) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. She is Joint Secretary in the same department.
  2. Sanjukta Mudgal (IFoS:1990:MP) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture. She is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture.
  3. Anant Swarup (IRPS:1992) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce. He is Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce.
  4. Navaljit Kapoor (IRS-IT: 1992) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. He is serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
  5. Manoj Pandey (IRS-IT: 1992) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. He is serving as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
  6. Rahul Navin (IRS-IT: 1993) has been (in-situ) elevated in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary. He is Special Director, Directorate of Enforcement,
  7. Anurag Bajpai (IFoS:1994:MN) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence Production. He is Joint Secretary in the Department of Defence Production.
  8. Alok Pande (IPoS:1994) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance. He is Joint Secretary, DIPAM in the Ministry of Finance.
  9. Sunil Kumar (IFoS:1995:PB), Joint Secretary in the Department of Science & Technology (DST), has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Science & Technology.
  10. Hanif Qureshi (IPS:1996:HY) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries.
  11. Anandrao Vishnu Patil (IAS:1998:TN) has been (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy. He is Joint Secretary in the Department of School Education & Literacy.
