The Appointments Committee of Cabinet, on Tuesday, cleared the appointments of 10 IAS officers from various batches as Secretary in various departments and ministries.
The name of the officers and their postings are as follows :
- Braj Raj Sharma (IAS:1984:JK), Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post.
- Sanjeev Gupta (IAS:1985:HP), Special Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs has been appointed as Secretary, Inter State Council Secretariat, Ministry of Home Affairs.
- Sailesh (IAS:1985:AM), Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.
- Alok Tandon (IAS:1986:UP) has been appointed as Secretary Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances. The officer will hold the additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Pensions and Pensioners Welfare. Presently, he is posted in the cadre as IIDC, Govt. of U.P., Chairman, NOIDA, Chairman, Yamuna Express way Industrial Development Authority and Chairman, Greater Noida, Lucknow.
- Sanjeev Nandan Sahai (IAS:1986:AGMUT), Special Secretary, Ministry of Power has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Power vice Shri Subhash Chandra Garg (IAS:1983:RJ) upon his retirement on 31.10.2019.
- Pramod Kumar Das (IAS:1986:MP), Special Secretary, Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance has been appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs vice Shri Sailesh (IAS:1985:AM) on his appointment as Secretary, Department of Public Enterprises.
- Nagendra Nath Sinha (IAS:1987:JH), Chairman, National Highways Authority of India, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Border Management, Ministry of Home Affairs vice Braj Raj Sharma(IAS:1984:JK) on his appointment as Chairman, Staff Selection Commission.
- Tuhin Kanta Pandey (IAS:1987:OR) has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management, Ministry of Finance vice Shri Anil Kumar Khachi (IAS:1986:HP) on his repatriation to his parent cadre on personal grounds with immediate effect. He is presently posted in the Cadre.
- Pankaj Kumar (IAS:1987:NL), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has been appointed as CEO, Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) in the rank and pay of Secretary by temporarily upgrading the post.
- Rajesh Bhushan (IAS:1987:BH), Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat has been appointed as Secretary (Coordination), Cabinet Secretariat.
