Centre effects major bureaucratic reshuffle at Joint Secretary level

In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, Modi government has cleared the appointment of over 29 officers to the post of Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

1. Ms. Jaya Dubey (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances for a tenure of five years by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of DS/Director level, initially for a period of two years.
2. Ashutosh Jindal (IAS:1995:TR), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat vice Ms. Rachna Shah (IAS:1991:KL).
3. Ms. D. Sai Amutha Devi (IP&TA&FS:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, O/o Secretary (Security), Cabinet Secretariat for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Arti Bhatnagar(IDAS:1990).
4. Ms. Mamta Upadhyaya Lal (IOFS:1989) has been appointed as Additional DG, BIS under the Department of Consumer Affairs for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.09.2023 or until further orders, vice Shri CB Singh (IES:1986).
5. Ms. Praveen Kumari Singh (IRPS:1993) has been appointed as Additional Secretary (JS level), CVC, for a tenure upto her superannuation on 30.04.2024 or until further orders, vice Ms. Sonali Singh (ICAS:1987).
6. Puneet Aggarwal (IAS:1998:TR) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Defence for an overall tenure of five years upto 24.10.2021 or until further orders vice Shri V. Anandarajan (IRS-IT:1988) consequent on completion of his tenure on 11.11.2019. Presently, he is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.
7. Rajesh Sharma (IDAS:1992) has been appointed as Joint Secretary & Addl.FA, Ministry of Defence for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Dharitri Panda (ICAS:1987).
8. Saurabh Gaur (IAS:2002:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for an overall tenure of five years upto 23.03.2020 vice Sanjay K Rakesh (IAS:1989:TR).
9. Praveen N. Gedam (IAS:2002:MH) has been appointed as Deputy CEO (JS level), National Health Authority, under the Department of Health & Family Welfare for an overall tenure of five years upto 27.11.2022 by restoring the post of Deputy CEO (Dir level) held by the officer to JS level.
10. Ms. Neeta Prasad (IFoS:1991) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education for a tenure of five years N Saravana Kumar (IAS:2000:BH).
11. Ms. Kamini Chauhan Ratan (IAS:1997:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Higher Education for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Ishita Roy (IAS:1991:KL).
12. Satya S. Lolla (IRS-C&CE:1991) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, NATGRID under the Ministry of Home Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Ashish Gupta (IPS:1989:UP).
13. Ms. Alaknanda Dayal (IAS:2000:PB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs for a combined tenure of 7 years outside the cadre vice Ms. Nidhi Khare (IAS:1992:JH).
14. Rajeev K. Tiwari (IFoS:1993:JK) has been appointed as Principal Commissioner, DDA, Housing & Ministry of Urban Affairs for a tenure of five years vice Shripal (IFoS:1986:KL) consequent on his premature repatriation on 15.11.2019.
15. Alok Pande (IPoS:1994) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Investment & Public Asset Management for a tenure of five years vice Ravi Aggarwal (IRS-IT:1988).
16. Satendra Singh (IAS:1995:JH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years vice Bipul Pathak (IAS:1992:JK).
17. Upendra C. Joshi (IRTS:1989) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Mines for a tenure of five years vice Niranjan K. Singh (IFoS:1987:GJ).
18. Ms. Manisha Sensharma (IES:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary (A&F), DMEO, NITI Aayog for a tenure of five years against an existing vacancy.
19. SN Girish (IAS:2002:OR) has been appointed as Regional Director (JS level), SSC, under the Department of Personnel & Training for an overall tenure of five years upto 08.08.2024 by temporarily upgrading the post held by the officer, initially for a period of two years.
20. Praveen M. Khanooja (IA&AS:1994) has been appointed as DG, Petroleum Planning & Analysis Cell under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Atreyee Das (IA&AS:1989).
21. Ms. Manmeet K. Nanda (IAS:2000:WB) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade for a tenure of five years vice Rajiv Aggarwal (IAS:1993:UP).
22. Ms. Anuradha Vemuri (IFoS:1991:UP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for a tenure of five years vice Ms. Jyotsna Sitlling (IFoS:1987:UD) consequent on completion of her tenure on 12.11.2019.
23. Ashish Rawat (IFoS:1988) has been appointed as CEO, Development & Welfare Board for Denotified Nomadic & Semi-nomadic Communities, under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure upto his superannuation on 31.12.2023.
24. Rohit Yadav (IAS:2002:CG) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel for an overall tenure of five years upto 31.07.2023 by temporarily upgrading the post of Director held by the officer, initially for a period of two years.
25. Saurabh Jain (IAS:2002:KL) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs (by temporarily upgrading a vacant post of Director level) with additional charge of the post of Commissioner, Eklavya Model Residential School Society for a combined tenure of seven years upto 01.09.2020.
26. SK Ratho (IFoS:1987:OR) has been appointed as ED/DDG, NMCG under the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation for an overall tenure of five years upto 19.03.2022 vice Shri CV Dharma Rao (CSS). Presently, he is Joint Secretary, NCST.
27. K Touthang (CSS) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs for a tenure of five years vice SK Ratho (IFoS:1987).
28. Ms. M. Imkongla Jamir (IAS:2002:KN) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development for a combined tenure of seven years upto 08.04.2021 by temporarily downgrading a vacant post of Additional Secretary vice Shri K. Moses Chalai (IAS:1990:MN).
29. Ms. Nandita Gupta (IAS:2001:HP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution for an overall tenure of five years upto 14.12.2022 vice P.K. Tiwari (IAS:1991:AM).
