Centre appoints CPOs for 22 Aspirational Districts

The central government on Thursday (12.06.2025) announced the appointment of Central Prabhari Officers (CPOs) for 22 districts under the Aspirational District Programme.

These officers have been entrusted with the responsibility of monitoring development indicators and facilitating effective implementation of government schemes in these districts. The officers will handle their CPO duties in addition to their existing official responsibilities.

Newly appointed CPOs for 22 districts are as follows:

1. Manish Thakur (IAS:1998:AM), Additional Secretary in the M/o Tribal Affairs- CPO of Barpeta, Assam.
2. Sanjay Kumar Agarwal (IAS:2002:BH), Joint Secretary in the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare- CPO of Sitamarhi, Bihar.
3. Anbalagan F (IAS:2004:CG), Joint Secretary in Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare-CPO of Bijapur, Chhattisgarh.
4. Ms. Alarmelmangai D (IAS:2004:CG), Joint Secretary in Ministry of Ayush- CPO of Mahasamund, Chhattisgarh.
5. Ajeet Kumar Sahu (IAS:2003:AGMUT), Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare- CPO of Baramulla Jammu & Kashmir.
6. Chauhan Santa Chand (IAS:1999:AGMUT), Joint Secretary in D/o Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances- CPO of Kupwara, Jammu & Kashmir.
7. Daya Nidhan Pandey (IAS:2006:BH), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Steel- CPO of Chatra, Jharkhand.
