Centre appoints 3 new acting Chief Justice of Manipur, Patna and Rajasthan High Courts

Three judges of the Rajasthan, Patna, and Manipur High Courts were appointed as acting Chief Justices of these high courts by the President of India on Saturday after the five judges were elevated to the Apex Court.

Three judges of the Rajasthan, Patna, and Manipur High Courts were appointed as acting Chief Justices of these high courts by the President of India on Saturday after the five judges were elevated to the Apex Court.

While Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava will be the Acting Chief Justice of Rajasthan High Court, Justice Chakradhari Sharan Singh will be the Acting Chief Justice of Patna High Court and Justice M V Muralidaran will take charge as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur.

The Supreme Court of India on Saturday also cleared the appointments of five new Judges. In December, the Supreme Court collegium recommended their elevation from the High Courts to the Apex Court. Supreme Court’s working strength increased to 32 as a result of the new appointments.
