The central government has accepted the resignation of IPS officer Kamya Mishra (IPS:2019:BH), as per a notification issued on March 27, 2025. However, the decision became public on Tuesday.

Mishra had submitted her resignation in August 2024, citing personal reasons. She was granted 180 days’ leave in November 2024, with her last posting as SP (Rural), Darbhanga.

A 2019-batch officer, Mishra gained recognition for successfully solving the murder case of former Bihar Minister Mukesh Sahni’s father. She had cleared the UPSC exam at the age of 22, securing an all-India rank of 172. Originally from Odisha, she was initially allotted the Himachal Pradesh cadre before being transferred to Bihar.

Her husband, Avdhesh Saroj Dikshit, is also an IPS officer from the same batch and cadre.
