Central government offices in Delhi/New Delhi to remain closed on September 11 for BRICS Summit

Central Government offices in Delhi and New Delhi will remain closed on September 11, 2026, due to the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.

New Delhi: The Central Government offices located in Delhi and New Delhi will remain closed on Friday, September 11, 2026, on the occasion of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit scheduled to be held in the national capital.

According to an Office Memorandum issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (September 3, 2026), the BRICS Business Forum and the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit are scheduled to be held from September 11 to 13, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The summit will be attended by leaders from about 30 BRICS member and partner countries, along with heads of international organisations and business representatives.

Recognising the magnitude of the event, the substantial logistical arrangements involved and the need to minimise inconvenience to the general public, the government has decided to keep all Central Government offices located in Delhi/New Delhi closed on September 11. The following two days, September 12 and 13, fall on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
