As many as 28 Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) officers have been empanelled for promotion to the grade of Chief Commissioner/Director General of Customs & Indirect Taxes (Level 16 of the Pay Matrix) for the panel years 2024.

The extended panel would be operated in lieu of officers included in the main panel who are retiring on superannuation during the year 2025.
It is worth noting that the DPC recommendations for Ganesh Hanavur and Sanjay Mahendru have been placed in a ‘sealed cover’ for the panel year 2025. In their place, the promotion of the two junior-most officers in the 2025 panel will be on an ‘ad-hoc’ basis until the pending ‘sealed cover’ cases are resolved.
