The deputation tenure of Ashwin Shenvi (IPS:2006:HY) as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has been extended for one more year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (August 27, 2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the proposal to extend her tenure beyond September 6, 2025, completing six years in total, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ashwin Shenvi was appointed to the CBI on July 22, 2020 for an initial tenure of five years and assumed charge on September 6, 2020.
