Senior IPS officer DC Jain (IPS:1991:RJ), who currently serves as the Additional Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has been promoted to the position of Special Director of the CBI. This promotion was approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, following a proposal from the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), as stated in an order released on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. Mr. Jain will assume the role of Special Director from the date of taking charge and will serve in this capacity until his superannuation on October 31, 2023, or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.
