The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) on Friday (December 19, 2025) ordered the transfer and posting of five IRS-IT officers of 1990 batch following their promotion to the rank of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (Pr.CCIT) / Principal Director General of Income Tax (Pr.DGIT), with immediate effect.
As per the order, Adarsh Kumar Modi has been posted as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Pune, from his earlier assignment as DGIT (Vigilance), Delhi. Anita Sinha and Ashok Kumar Saroha, who were serving as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (OSD), have been appointed as Principal Director General of Income Tax (Training), Delhi, and Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, North Western Region (NWR), respectively. Anand Rajeshwar Baiwar, also posted as Pr. CCIT (OSD), has been shifted as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax (OSD), Hyderabad, while Anand Jha, earlier serving as Pr. CCIT (OSD), has been posted as Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Delhi.
The order also entrusts additional charges to select officers. Adarsh Kumar Modi has been given additional charge of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Nagpur, while Anita Sinha will hold additional charge as Principal Director General of Income Tax (HRD), Delhi. Anand Rajeshwar Baiwar has been assigned additional charge of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Odisha.
The CBDT further clarified that the officers will continue to hold the charges they were handling prior to their promotion until further orders.
