The Ernakulam Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) stayed the latest transfer order of senior IAS officer B Ashok (IAS:1998:KL), issued by the Kerala government a day earlier.
The state government had on Monday posted Ashok as Principal Secretary, Personnel and Administrative Reforms (P&ARD), relieving him from the post of Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) and Principal Secretary, Agriculture. The order was scheduled to take effect from September 17.
However, CAT made it clear that its earlier interim order — which had stayed Ashok’s transfer from Agriculture Production Commissioner to Managing Director of Kerala Transport Development Finance Corporation (KTDFC) — will continue to remain in force.
The tribunal’s intervention means Ashok will retain charge as Agriculture Production Commissioner and Principal Secretary, Agriculture, until further orders.
The case has now been adjourned for further hearing on September 21.
