In light of the escalating war-like situation along the western borders of the country, the Jammu and Kashmir government has nominated senior officers as mentors for several districts in the Union Territory. These Bureaucrat Mentors in Jammu Kashmir are part of a strategic move that aims to bolster administrative preparedness and ensure efficient coordination in sensitive border areas.
Shaleen Kabra (IAS:1992:AGMUT), who currently serves as Additional Chief Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department, has been entrusted with mentoring the district of Jammu. Shailendra Kumar (IAS:1995:AGMUT), Principal Secretary to the Government in the Agriculture Production Department, will oversee Poonch district.
Sanjeev Verma (IAS:2001:AGMUT), Commissioner/Secretary of the Social Welfare Department, has been assigned to Kathua. Vikramjit Singh (IPS:2006:AGMUT), who heads the Industries and Commerce Department as Commissioner/Secretary, will supervise Samba.
Sarmad Hafeez (IAS:2009:AGMUT), Commissioner/Secretary of the Youth Services and Sports Department, has been made responsible for Kupwara. Kumar Rajeev Ranjan (IAS:2010:AGMUT), Administrative Secretary of the Labour and Employment Department, has been appointed to Baramulla.
Additionally, Bhupinder Kumar (IAS:2011:AGMUT), Secretary of the Public Works (R&B) Department, has been designated as the mentor for Rajouri district. Owais Ahmed (IAS), Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation, has been appointed to Bandipora.
