S S Nakul (IAS:2010:KN) was on Thursday (03.02.2022) given additional charge of the post of Private Secretary to Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, in the Ministry of Finance. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Nakul as Private Secretary with effect from the date of assumption of the post for a period up to 24.01.2026 (i.e for the balance period of five years tenure as PS) or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. Presently, he is Private Secretary to Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs, in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
Ms. Debashree Mukherjee gets addl. charge of Mission Director, National Water Mission
Ms. Debashree Mukherjee (IAS:1991:AGMUT) was on Thursday (03.02.2022) given additional charge of the post of Mission Director, National Water Mission for a period up to March 29, 2022. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the central government has approved the assignment of additional charge to Ms Mukherjee with effect from 01.01.2022 till 29.03.2022 or till appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is the earliest. Presently, she is Additional Secretary, Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
Ramesh Chandra Joshi appointed as Director (Finance), NALCO
Ramesh Chandra Joshi was on Thursday (03.02.2022) appointed to the post of Director (Finance) in National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Joshi to the post from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till the date of his superannuation i.e. 30.04.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as GGM, NALCO.
Lieutenant General PGK Menon appointed as new Military Secretary in Army Headquarters
Lieutenant General PGK Menon has been appointed as the new Military Secretary in the Army Headquarters. He was previously serving as the commander of the Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps.
The Military Secretary is one of the Principal Staff Officers of the Chief of Army Staff. The role of the Military Secretary is being responsible for promotions and postings of the entire officer cadre of the Indian Army.

Venkat Sathya Kanesh Goli, a private person, has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to G Krishan Reddy, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region, in the Ministry Tourism. Prabodh Seth (IRS-IT:1989), Joint Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) (Divyanjan), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Trainning (DoPT), the central government has approved the proposal of DEPwD to repatriate Seth to his parent cadre on grounds of availing promotion in the cadre.

Rambir Singh (IFoS:1993:HY), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued on Tuesday by the Department of Personnel and Trainning (DoPT), the central government has approved the proposal of M/o DoNER to repatriate Singh to his parent cadre on grounds of availing promotion in the cadre.
Ravi Mittal appointed as new Chairman of IBBI
Senior IAS officer Ravi Mittal (IAS:1986:BH) has been appointed as the chairman of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). According to a notification circulated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on February 02, Mittal has been appointed to the post of Chairman for a period of five years or till he is 65 years of age-whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as Secretary, Department of Sports with additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
The chairman’s post at the IBBI fell vacant after M S Sahoo retired on September 30 last year after completing his five-year tenure. Navrang Saini, a whole-time member of IBBI was given an additional charge to head IBBI during the interim period.
