Chhattisgarh CMO Reshuffle: P Dayanand Appointed Secretary to CM, Five IAS Officers Relieved

In a significant administrative overhaul, the newly appointed BJP-led government in Chhattisgarh has initiated a major reshuffle in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO). Several key appointments have been made, and existing officials have been relieved from specific roles, ushering in a new phase for the CMO.

The reshaping of the CMO includes the appointment of P Dayanand (IAS:2006:CG) as the Secretary to Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. Formerly serving as the Secretary of the Medical Education Department, Dayanand will now also hold the charge of the Medical Education Department in addition to his role in the CMO.

Subrata Sahu (IAS:1992:CG), a trusted officer of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, has been relieved from the position of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to Chief Minister. While being relieved from this charge, Sahu will retain other significant responsibilities, including ACS for Electronics & Information Technology, Commerce and Industries (Rail Line Projects), Panchayat and Rural Development, PWD, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board, and Development Commissioner.

Pardeshi Siddharth Komal (IAS:2003:CG), the Secretary to Chief Minister with additional charges of Aviation, and Public Relations Department, has been relieved from the role of Secretary to the Chief Minister while maintaining his other responsibilities.

Ankit Anand (IAS:2006:CG), who held the position of Secretary to Chief Minister with additional charges of the Finance Department, Energy Department & Pension Resolution Committee, and Chairman of the CG State Electricity Company, has been relieved from the role of Secretary to the Chief Minister. However, he will continue to manage the remaining charges of the department.

Solai Bharti Dasan (IAS:2006:CG), Secretary to Chief Minister with additional responsibilities for the School Education Department and Secretary of PHED, has been relieved from the post of Secretary to the CM while retaining the rest of his responsibilities until further orders.

D D Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister with additional charge of Secretary for ST & SC Development Department and General Administration Department, has been relieved from the position of Secretary to Chief Minister, while continuing with the remaining charges.

This reshuffle marks a significant transition as the new government structures its administrative team in line with its vision and priorities for Chhattisgarh.

Dalta Sreenivasa Verma appointed as Joint Director, CBI

Dalta Sreenivasa Verma (IPS:1997:MP) has been designated as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for a tenure of five years. As per the order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (19.12.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has given its approval to appoint Mr. Verma to the position for a duration of five years, starting from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever takes place earlier.

Prasanna V Salian gets extension as Director in Department of Economic Affairs

The central deputation tenure of Prasanna V Salian (IES:2008) as Director in the Department of Economic Affairs has been extended for an additional two years. As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (19.12.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension, allowing Mr. Salian to serve beyond 30.04.2024, up to 30.04.2026, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

Saurabh Kumar Tiwari gets extension as JS in Cabinet Secretariat

The deputation tenure of Saurabh Kumar Tiwari (IP&TA&FS:1993) as Joint Secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat has been granted a two-year extension. As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (19.12.2023), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension, effective from 11.12.2023 or until further orders, whichever comes earlier.

PESB selects Hari Mohan Gupta for IRCON International’s CMD post

The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday (19.12.2023) announced the selection of Hari Mohan Gupta as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of IRCON International, a position that had been vacant since April of this year. Currently serving as the Director of Infrastructure at the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited, H. M. Gupta emerged as the selected candidate. The selection process involved the evaluation of ten candidates by the PESB.

Manoj Kumar Jain selected as CMD of Madras Fertilizers Limited

The Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) has announced the selection of Manoj Kumar Jain for the position of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) at Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL). Jain, presently holding the role of Senior General Manager in Environment, Water & Safety at Engineers India Limited in Gurugram, emerged as the chosen candidate. The PESB conducted interviews for five candidates on Tuesday. At present, both Board level positions, including that of Director Technical, are vacant at MFL.

Telangana: Anjani Kumar not reinstated as DGP

The former Director General of Police (DGP) of Telangana, Anjani Kumar (IPS:1990:TG), who faced suspension by the Election Commission on December 3 for meeting the state Congress chief A Revanth Reddy while the vote counting was still underway, has not been reinstated to his previous position.

Ravi Gupta (IPS:1990:TG), who was appointed as the DGP in place of Anjani Kumar, will continue to assume full additional charge of the top post, even after being transferred and posted as DGP, Coordination.

Anjani Kumar, whose suspension was lifted by the Election Commission last week, and who had been awaiting a new posting, has now been assigned as the Chairman of the Road Safety Authority. Additionally, he will hold the full additional charge of Commissioner, Printing & Stationery.

In the wake of recent administrative changes following the shift in government leadership in Telangana, the Congress-led administration executed additional transfers and postings of IPS officers on Tuesday.

The names of the officers and their postings are given below:

  1. Ravi Gupta (IPS:1990:TG), Director General, ACB & DG, V&E (FAC) has been transferred and posted as Director General of Police. He will also coordinate and continue to hold the Full Additional Charge of DGP (HoPF), Telangana.
  2. Anjani Kumar (IPS:1990:TG), DGP, who was waiting for posting, has been made the Chairman of Road Safety Authority. He will also hold the full additional charge of Commissioner, Printing and Stationary.
  3. Rajiv Ratan (IPS:1991:TG), Managing Director, Telangana State Police Housing Corporation Ltd. has been transferred and posted as Director General, Vigilance & Enforcement.
  4. CV Anand (IPS:1991:TG), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as DG, ACB.
  5. Abhilasha Bisht (IPS:1994:TG), Addl., DGP, Welfare & Sports HFAC Addl., DGP, Home Guards & I/c Coordination, has been transferred and posted as Director, DR RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy, Hyderabad. He will also hold the full additional charge of IGP, Training, Hyderabad.
  6. Dr Soumya Mishra (IPS:1994:TG), Addl. DGP, Personnel, has been transferred and posted as Director General, Prisons & Correctional services.
  7. Shikha Goel (IPS:1994:TG), Addl. DGP, Women Safety, SHE teams & Bharosa has been transferred and posted as Addl., DGP, CID.
  8. Mahesh M Bhagwat (IPS:1995:TG), Addl. DG, CID, has been transferred and posted as Addl. DGP, Railways & Road Safety.
  9. Dr Anil Kumar (IPS:1996:TG), Addl. DGP, waiting for posting, has been posted as Director General, Telangana Special Protection Force.

  14. M Ramesh (IPS:2005:TG), IGP, Provisioning, and Logistics, has been given full additional charge as Director, Telangana State Police Housing Corporation.
  15. K Ramesh Naidu (IPS:2006:TG), DIG, Zone-III, Rajanna Sircilla, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID.
  16. V Satyanarayana (IPS:2006:TG), who was waiting for posting order, has been posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Crime, Hyderabad.
  17. B Sumathi (IPS:2006:TG), Deputy Inspector General of Police, CID, Women Protection Cell, has been transferred and posted as Inspector General of Police, SIB, Intelligence.
  18. M Srinivasulu (IPS:2006:TG) is directed to report to the office of the Director General of Police, Telangana.
  19. Sharath Chandra Pawar (IPS:2016:TG), Deputy Director, Dr. RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Hyderabad city.
  20. VB Kamal Hasan is placed in full additional charge of Director, Prohibition and Excise.

Telangana: Major reshuffle in Hyderabad police; ten IPS and five SP-Rank officers shifted

In a significant restructuring within the Hyderabad police, the Telangana government has issued orders for the transfer and posting of ten IPS officers and five other SP-rank officers. The transfers were officially communicated through two separate orders released on Sunday (17.12.2023). While many officers in the lists have been assigned new locations, a few are still awaiting their postings.

As per the order issued by Chief Secretary Shanthi Kumari, ten IPS officers, primarily stationed in Hyderabad city, have undergone transfers.

Notable changes include:

P Viswaprasad (IPS:2005:TG), former Additional Commissioner of Police, SB, Hyderabad City, has been transferred and appointed as the Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, filling the existing vacancy.

AV Ranganath (IPS:2007:TG), previously awaiting posting, has been assigned as the Joint Commissioner of Police, Crimes and SIT, Hyderabad City, replacing Dr. Gajarao Bhupal.

SM Vijay Kumar (IPS:2012:TG), former SP (Intelligence wing), has been moved and appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Zone), Hyderabad City, succeeding Sri Joel Davis.

Sri Joel Davis (IPS:2010:TG), upon transfer, has been designated as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, SB, Hyderabad City, in the existing vacancy.

Rohini Priyadarshini (IPS:2012:TG), former SP Medak, has been relocated to the position of Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Zone) Hyderabad City, taking over from G Chandana Deepti.

N Swetha (IPS:2012:TG), Commissioner of Police, Siddipet, has been transferred and appointed as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, DD, Hyderabad City, filling the existing vacancy.

L Subbarayudu (IPS:2013:TG), previously awaiting posting, has been assigned as the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic-I, Hyderabad City, in the existing vacancy.

Nitika Pant (IPS:2017:TG), DCP (Task Force) Hyderabad City, has been transferred and directed to report to the office of the Director General of Police, Telangana, Hyderabad.

Additionally, Dr. Gajarao Bhupal (IAS:2008:TG) and Ms. G Chandana Deepti (IPS:2012:TG), upon transfer, have been instructed to report to the DGP’s office.

In a separate order issued by the home department on the same day, transfers and postings of five SP-rank officials were announced with immediate effect:

N. Venkateshwarlu, previously awaiting posting, has been appointed as DCP, Traffic-III, Hyderabad City, succeeding Sri D Srinivas.

Sri D Srinivas, former DCP, Traffic-III, Hyderabad, has been directed to report to the DGP’s office.

Sree Bala Devi, former DCP, Road Safety, Rachakonda, has been transferred and appointed as DCP (Task Force) Hyderabad.

G Sundeep, former DCP Madhapur, has been relocated as SP (Admin) Railways.

J Raghavender Reddy, former SP (Admin) Railways, has been ordered to report to the DGP’s office.

In a recent administrative reshuffle in Telangana, the state government on Sunday (17.12.2023) transferred and reassigned 11 IAS officers to various positions across the state.

The details of the officers and their new postings are outlined below:

  1. Arvind Kumar (IAS:1991:TG), formerly serving as the Special Chief Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Urban Development, Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA (Full Additional Charge), Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration (FAC), has been transferred and appointed as the Special Chief Secretary, Revenue (Disaster Management) Department. This change comes as a replacement for Rahul Bojja (IAS:2000:TG) in the additional charge of the Disaster Management Department.
  2. B Venkatesham (IAS:1995:TG), previously the Principal Secretary and Commissioner (BC Welfare), has been reassigned as the Principal Secretary for Education, relieving Vakati Karuna of the FAC of the Department.
  3. A Vani Prasad (IAS:1995:TG), who held the position of Principal Secretary of the Transport Department, is now designated as the Principal Secretary for Environment, Forests, Science, and Technology. Additionally, she assumes the full additional charge of EPTRI as its Director General, relieving Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari from FAC of the department.
  4. M Dana Kishore (IAS:1996:TG), the Managing Director of HMWSSB, has been transferred and appointed as the Principal Secretary for the Department of Municipal Administration and Urban Development, succeeding Arvind Kumar. He also takes on the FAC of the posts of Metropolitan Commissioner, HMDA, and Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration.
  5. K S Sreenivas Raju (IAS:1999:TG), formerly the Secretary of the Roads & Buildings Department, has been transferred and posted as the Secretary for Transport, Roads, and Buildings Department, relieving Vani Prasad from the Transport Department.
  6. Rahul Bojja (IAS:2000:TG), the Secretary to Chief Minister, is now designated as the Secretary for GAD, relieving V Sheshadri of the additional charge of the department. He will continue to hold the FAC of the posts of Secretary to Government, SC Development, and Commissioner, SC Development.
  7. Dr. Christina Z Chongthu (IAS:2001;TG), the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes, is transferred to the position of Secretary for the HM & FW Department.
  8. C Sudharshan Reddy (IAS:2002:TG) has been posted as the Managing Director of HMWSSB.
  9. Dr. T K Sreedevi (IAS:2004:TG), previously serving as the Secretary for Finance, is reassigned as the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes.
  10. Vakati Karuna (IAS:2004:TG) has been appointed as the Secretary and Commissioner, Women, Child, Disabled & Senior Citizens Department, succeeding Shruti Ojha (IAS:2013:TG).
