The Rajasthan government on Friday (05.01.2024) issued transfer and posting orders impacting 72 IAS officers across the state. This comprehensive reshuffle included changes in 36 district collectors and several key department heads. In addition to these changes, one IAS officer has been placed on the waiting list, while three others have been entrusted with additional responsibilities.
The names of the officers and their postings are given below:
S Kishore (Retd. IAS:1989:WB), who currently serves as the Chairman of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), has been granted an extension in the tenure of re-employment. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Friday (06.01.2024) announcing that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to extend Mr. Kishore’s tenure in the rank and pay of Secretary to the Government of India on a contract basis. This extension is valid for a period of three months, extending beyond 31.01.2024, or until further orders, whichever takes place earlier.
Moloy Chandan Chakrabortty (IDAS:1993), currently serving as Jute Commissioner at the JS level in Kolkata under the Ministry of Textiles, has had his tenure extended for an additional six months. As per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (05.01.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted approval to the Ministry of Textiles’ proposal for the extension of Mr. Chakrabortty’s tenure in the post. This extension is effective for six months beyond 05.11.2024 or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Dr. Pradeep Kumar Jena (IDAS:2010), currently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Employment, has undergone a re-designation, now holding the position of Director. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Thursday (04.01.2024), confirming that the competent authority has granted approval for Mr. Jena’s re-designation as Director. This tenure is effective until 24.04.2028, encompassing a total duration of five years under the Central Staff Scheme.
Indevar Pandey (IAS:1988:WB), currently serving as the Secretary of the Ministry of Women & Child Development, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs. As per an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (04.01.2024), the competent authority has granted Mr. Pandey the temporary charge of the latter position from 05.01.2024 to 12.01.2024. This additional assignment comes in light of the temporary leave of absence taken by Katikithala Srinivas (IAS:1989:GJ).
The Modi government has approved the appointment of three new members to the Railway Board, along with five officers at the General Manager rank. The recent appointments to the Railway Board members at the Apex Scale, Level 17, are as follows:
Seema Kumar (IRTS: 1986) has assumed the role of Member (Operations & Business Development), filling the vacancy left by Jaya Varma Sinha, who now serves as the first Chairman & CEO of Railway Board. Seema Kumar was previously serving as Additional Member (Catering & Tourism).
Naveen Gulati (IRSEE:1986) is now the Director General (HR), Railway Board, succeeding Mohit Sinha (IRAS:1986) who retired on 30.11.2023. Gulati, who was previously Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), takes on this new responsibility.
Satish Kumar (IRSME:1986), currently the General Manager of North Central Railway (Prayagraj), has been appointed as Member (Traction & Rolling Stock), succeeding Naveen Gulati in the Railway Board.
Additionally, seven senior IRMS officers have been reassigned to key positions at the General Manager, Secretary, and DG (Level) posts:
Ravinder Goyal is now the General Manager of North Central Railway.
Ashok Kumar Verma assumes the role of General Manager at CORE (Prayagraj).
Arvind Srivastava takes on the position of General Manager at South Western Railway (Hubli).
U Subba Rao is appointed as General Manager at Integral Coach Factory (Chennai).
Milind K Deouskar, who previously served as Secretary, Railway Board, is now the General Manager of Eastern Railway (Kolkata).
Roopa Srinivasan is appointed as the Director General of the National Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR), Vadodara.
Aruna Nayar assumes the position of Secretary, Railway Board.
Tanu Singh (ITradeS:2012) has been appointed to the position of First Secretary at the Permanent Mission of India (PMI), World Trade Organization (WTO), Geneva, under the Department of Commerce. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (05.01.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Ms. Singh’s appointment to the post for a duration of three years from the date she assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. It is noted that her previous appointment as Deputy Secretary with the Department of Justice under the Central Staffing Scheme has been cancelled.
Kalyan Revella (IRS-C&IT:2010) has been appointed to the post of Counsellor (Economic) at the Economic Wing, Embassy of India, Beijing, under the Department of Economic Affairs. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (05.01.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Mr. Revella’s appointment to the position for a duration of three years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment involves the curtailment of his tenure of Central deputation as Deputy Secretary in the Office of Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM), under DPIIT, Mumbai (a CSS post).
Ms.Smita Sarangi (IAS:2008:NL) has been appointed to the position of Adviser to the Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Manila, Philippines, under the Department of Economic Affairs. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (05.01.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Ms. Sarangi’s appointment for a duration of three years from the date she assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment involves the curtailment of her tenure of Central deputation as Director in the Cabinet Secretariat under the Central Staffing Scheme. Ms. Sarangi will take over from H. Atheli (ICAS:2000).
Parveen Kumar (IRS-IT:2004) has been appointed to the post of Adviser to the Executive Director at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Washington DC, USA, under the Department of Economic Affairs. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (05.01.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Mr. Kumar’s appointment to the position for a duration of three years from the date he assumes charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier. This appointment involves curtailing his tenure of Central deputation as Director, Department of Economic Affairs, under the Central Staffing Scheme. Mr. Kumar will take over from Simanchala Dash (IRS-IT:1988).
