The deputation tenure of Nidhi Mani Tripathi (IAS:2001:MN) in her role as Joint Secretary in the Department of Commerce has been prolonged by one month. As per an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (06.02.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted approval to extend Ms. Tripathi’s deputation tenure beyond 30.01.2024 or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

IPS officer Rahul R Nair appointed as DIG in NSG
IPS officer Rahul R Nair (IPS:2008:KL) has recently been appointed to the position of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in the National Security Guard (NSG) on a deputation basis. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) issued an order confirming his appointment for a five-year tenure, effective from the date he assumes the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Ravinder Saroop gets two-year extension in foreign assignment as Revenue Administration Advisor at SARTTAC-IMF
In a recent development, Ravinder Saroop (IRS-IT:1990), currently serving as the Revenue Administration Advisor at SARTTAC-IMF (South Asia Regional Training & Technical Assistance Centre of the International Monetary Fund) in New Delhi, has been granted a two-year extension in his foreign assignment. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Tuesday, confirming that the competent authority has approved the Department of Revenue’s proposal to extend Mr. Saroop’s foreign tenure for an additional two years.
Chhattisgarh: IPS Rahul Bhagat appointed Secretary to CM
The Chhattisgarh government has named IPS Rahul Bhagat (IPS:2005:CG) as the Secretary to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Prior to this assignment, Bhagat held the position of Inspector General (IG) in the newly formed Rajnandgaon Police Range.
This marks a significant development as he becomes the third secretary to the Chief Minister and the first IPS officer to assume this role in the state. Recognized as a trusted officer of CM Sai, IPS Rahul Bhagat previously served as the Private Secretary during Sai’s ministerial tenure at the Centre.
Following Vishnudev Sai’s resignation from the ministerial post, Rahul Bhagat assumed the role of Director of the Labour Department.
Chhattisgarh: Former IPS officer Rajesh Mishra appointed as OSD in Police Headquarters
The Chhattisgarh government has once again entrusted retired IPS officer Rajesh Mishra (IPS:1990:CG) with significant responsibilities. In an order issued on Friday, Mishra has been appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Police Headquarters on a contractual basis. Moreover, he has been given the additional charge of Director of the Chhattisgarh State Forensic Laboratory, Raipur, and Director General (DG) Jail.
Rajesh Mishra has a distinguished career, having previously held key positions such as Special Director General of Police and Director of the State Forensic Science Laboratory. His expertise also extends to his service in the CRPF on Central Deputation for three years. Upon his return from Delhi in 2022, he was promoted to DG but later retired from the Forensic Science department in Chhattisgarh.

The Chhattisgarh government on Sunday (04.02.2024) effected a significant overhaul in the police department, transferring a total of 45 IPS officers. This included changes in the positions of Superintendents of Police (SP) in 25 districts and the transfer of Inspectors General of Police in 4 divisions.

Joint Secretary Rubina Ali’s term at Ministry of Civil Aviation extended
The tenure of Ms. Rubina Ali (CSS) as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been extended for two years. The decision was formalized through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (02.02.2024). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has granted approval to the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s proposal, allowing Ms. Ali to continue her deputation for an additional two years beyond 10.03.2024 or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
