Susanta Kumar Purohit appointed Chairperson (JS level), VO Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin

Susanta Kumar Purohit (IRSEE:1996) has been appointed as Chairperson (JS level), VO Chidambaranar Port Authority, Tuticorin. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (09.02.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr Purohit to the post for an overall upto 26.05.2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shanmuga Priya Mishra appointed as Deputy Director in LBSNAA

Shanmuga Priya Mishra (IAS:2010:MP) has been appointed as Deputy Director (Director level) in Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration (LBSNAA) for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (09.02.2024), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Ms. Mishra to the post for five years under the central staffing scheme from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IRS officer Rohit Anand selected for appointment as Director, DARPG

Rohit Anand (IRS-IT:2008), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Administrative Reforms & Public Grievances (DARPG) for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (09.02.2024), the central government approved the appointment of Mr. Anand to the post for five years under the Central Staffing Scheme from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Prashant Shukla appointed Director, DoPT

Prashant Shukla (IRS-IT:2010) has been appointed as Director of the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). According to an order issued by the DoPT, the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Shukla to the post for a period from 01.03.2024 to 21.04.2026 (i.e. balance period of admissible tenure under the central staffing scheme) or until further orders, whichever event takes place earlier.

Modi govt effects major bureaucratic reshuffle at JS level

The Modi government on Friday (09.02.2024) implemented a significant bureaucratic reshuffle at the Joint Secretary level, appointing 21 officers to different ministries and departments.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Anjali Sinha (IRSME:1997) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Atomic Energy for a tenure of five years. She will replace Sanjay Kumar (IRAS:1989).
  2. Bhavna Saxena (IPS:1996:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH for an overall tenure of five years upto 15. 02.202. She replaces Rahul Sharma (IAS:1998:JH).
  3. Binod Kumar (ICAS:1993) has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the Ministry of AYUSH till superannuation i.e. 31.01.2025.
  4. Indra Mallo (IAS:1999:MH) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, National Authority Chemical Weapons Convention (NACWC) under the Cabinet Secretariat for an overall tenure of five years upto 27.02.2027 vice Sudhanshu Gupta (IFoS:1989:TN).
  5. Anand Kumar Jha (IFoS:1992:AP) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Cooperation for a tenure of five years. He replaces Abhay Kumar Singh (IAS:2004:BH).
  6. Krishan Kumar Singh (IRSSE:1997) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology for a tenure of five years. He replaces Amit Agrawal (IAS:1993:CG).
  7. Akhilesh Misra (IRSME:1995) has been appointed as ED (Personnel), Food Corporation of India (FCI) Hqrs for a tenure of five years vice Bijay Kumar Singh (IPS:1996:KN).
  8. Madhukar Kumar Bhagat (IRS-IT:1995) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure of five years vice Sachin Mittal (IPoS: 2000).
  9. Meera Srivastava (IRS-IT:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Health & Family Welfare for a tenure of five years vice Gayatri Mishra (CSS).
  10. Arvind Kumar (CSS) has been appointed as Secretary, National Commission for Allied & Healthcare Profession (NCAHP) under the Department of Health & Family Welfare till superannuation i.e. 30.04.2025.
  11. Sreyasi Chaudhuri (CSS) has been appointed as Financial Adviser (FA), National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) under MHA till her superannuation on 30.11.2026. She replaces Ravinesh Kumar (IDAS: 1994).
  12. Sumita Singh (CSS) has been appointed as Advisor, NDMA for a tenure of five years vice Sreyasi Chaudhuri (CSS).
  13. Dhrubajyoti Sengupta (IRAS:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare for a tenure of five years. He replaces Sanjiv Narain Mathur (IRAS: 1992).
  14. Yashashri Shukla (IP&TA&FS: 1996) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) for a tenure of five years. She replaces Ms M Janaki (lAS:2005:AP).
  15. Kumar Sanjay Bariar (IP&TA&FS: 1993) has been appointed as Additional Secretary, Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) under the Department of Personnel & Training for an overall tenure of five years ending 18.08.2024. He replaces Vinakshi Gupta (IDAS: 1992).
  16. Krishan Kumar (IAS:2002:OD) has been appointed as MD, National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways for an overall tenure of five years ending 08.03.2027. He replaces Chanchal Kumar (IAS:1992:BH).
  17. Shreeshail Malge (IRAS:2002) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship for a tenure of five years. He replaces Krishna Kumar Dwivedi (IAS: 1996: AM).
  18. Shailendra Kumar (ICAS:1999) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Inquiry Commission into whether Dalit converts to religions other than Sikhism or Budhhism should get SC status under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure of five years by temporarily upgrading the post of Director (Research) to JS level.
  19. Rajeev Kumar Tiwari (IFoS:1993:JK) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) for an overall tenure of five years ending 01.12.2024 vice Gyaneshwar Kumar Singh (IP&TA&FS: 1992).
  20. Apparao Veerelli (IRSS:1993) has been appointed as CEO, Development & Welfare Board for Denotified Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities (DWBDNCs) under the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a tenure upto the date of his superannuation on 31.08.2028.
  21. Devendra Kumar Rai (IDAS:2000) has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Telecommunications for a tenure of five years vice Anand Singh (IAS:2000:KL).

Rajasthan: Two IFS officers shifted

The Rajasthan government on Friday (09.02.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for two Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers.

The names of the officers and their posting are as follows;

  1. T J Kevitha (IFS:2000:RJ), Chief Conservator of Forests, Rajasthan Forestry and Biodiversity Development Project (RFBDP), Jaipur, has been transferred and posted as Chief OSD to Chief Minister, Jaipur.
  2. Kapil Chandrawal (IFS:2010:RJ), Joint Project Director, Rajasthan Forestry and Biodiversity Development Project (RFBDP), Jaipur, has been given additional charge of Chief Conservator of Forests, RFBDP.

Rajasthan: 44 IFS officers shifted, 7 get additional charges

The Rajasthan government on February 6 issued transfer and posting orders for 44 Indian Forest Service (IFS) officers, with an additional assignment of additional charges for 7 IFS officers.

The names of the officers and their posting are as follows;

Rajasthan: Alok Gupta appointed as Principal Secretary to CM

The Rajasthan government on Sunday (04.02.2024) designated Alok Gupta (IAS:1996:RJ) as the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. Alok Gupta, who previously served as the Principal Secretary in the Energy Department, takes over from T Ravikant, who held an additional charge of the same position.

Additionally, on February 2, the Department of Personnel issued an order appointing Shikhar Agrawal (IAS:1993:RJ) as the Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) to the Chief Minister. Shikhar Agrawal was previously serving as ACS to the forest, environment, and climate change.

The Chief Minister’s office also includes Sandesh Nayak as Special Secretary and Sidharth Sihag as Joint Secretary.

MP: Harda Collector & SP shifted

The Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday government executed a transfer of officials, reassigning the roles of Harda collector Rishi Garg (IAS:2013:MP) and Superintendent of Police (SP) Sanjeev Kanchan (IPS).

According to the order issued by the General Administration Department, Rishi Garg has been appointed as Deputy Secretary and relocated to the capital, Bhopal, for his new administrative responsibilities.

Simultaneously, the state home department issued a transfer order for Harda SP Sanjeev Kanchan (IPS), designating him to the state police headquarters in Bhopal as Assistant Inspector General (AIG), as per the order.

In a noteworthy development on February 2, the Madhya Pradesh government orchestrated a substantial bureaucratic rearrangement, issuing transfer and posting orders for 15 IAS officers throughout the state.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Vinod Kumar (IAS:1989:MP), Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), General Administration Department has been transferred as Director General, RCVP Naronha Academy of Administration.
  2. Anirudh Mukerjee (IAS:1993:MP), Principal Secretary, Public Property Management Department with additional charge of DG, RCPV Naronha Academy of administration, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Ayush department with additional charge of Principal Secretary, Public Property Management department and MD, MP State Property Management Company.
