The Supreme Court collegium on February 07, led by Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and B R Gavai, recommended the appointment of Gujarat High Court judge N V Anjaria as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. Justice Anjaria, who has been a judge at the High Court of Gujarat since November 21, 2011, is well-regarded for his competence, legal acumen, and impeccable integrity. Prior to his elevation, he practiced law in the High Court of Gujarat, specializing in civil, constitutional, company law, labour, and service matters.

Considering relevant factors, including the current chief justice from the High Court of Gujarat, the collegium deems Justice N V Anjaria as fit and suitable for the position of Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka.
