Puspendra Singh appointed as Deputy Secretary in D/o Social Justice & Empowerment

Puspendra Singh (ISS:2013), currently on compulsory wait in the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), has been chosen for the position of Deputy Secretary in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment. As outlined in an order issued by the DoPT, Mr. Singh’s appointment to this post under the central staffing scheme is effective from the date he assumes charge. The appointment is sanctioned for a period up to 10.06.2027, representing the balance period of four years tenure at the Deputy Secretary level under the central staffing scheme. Alternatively, it will continue until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.

Rajendra Kumar Gupta selected as Director (Finance), Cotton Corporation of India

Rajendra Kumar Gupta has been chosen as the Director (Finance) for the Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCIL) during a meeting of the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) convened on February 15, 2024. Currently holding the position of Chief General Manager at CCIL, Mr. Gupta’s appointment to the role of Director (Finance) is contingent upon the receipt of vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Shivraj Umakantrao Dhuppe re-designated as Director in M/o Defence

Shivraj Umakantrao Dhuppe (IA&AS:2010), presently serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, has undergone a re-designation and is now designated as Director within the same Ministry. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Thursday (15.02.2024), confirming the approval of the competent authority for the proposed re-designation by the Ministry of Defence. This re-designation is approved for a specified period, extending up to 12.08.2025.

It is worth noting that Shivraj Umakantrao Dhuppe commenced his central deputation tenure on August 13, 2019.

Kajal Singh selected for appointment as D/o Social Justice & Empowerment

Kajal Singh (IRS-IT:2010), recommendation for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been chosen for the role of Director in the Department of Social Justice & Empowerment for a period of five years. As per an order released by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (15.02.2024), Ms. Singh’s appointment to the post under the central staffing scheme is effective for five years from the date she assumes charge of the position or until further orders are issued, whichever comes earlier.

Radha Katyal Narang appointed as Director in D/o Justice

Radha Katyal Narang (IRS-IT:2005) has been appointed as Director in the Department of Justice. A recent order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (15.02.2024) states that the competent authority has given approval for Ms. Narang’s appointment to the post under the central staffing scheme. This appointment is effective from 01.03.2024 and is valid until 07.09.2027, which represents the balance of the five years admissible tenure under the central staffing scheme. Alternatively, it will continue until further orders are issued, whichever occurs earlier.

MoS Sadhavi Niranjan Jyoti’s Private Secretary Anurima Sharma re-designated as Director

Anurima Sharma (IRS-C&IT:2010), who presently holds the position of Private Secretary to Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Rural Development Sadhavi Niranjan Jyoti at the Deputy Secretary level, has recently undergone a re-designation. As per an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday, the competent authority has granted approval to re-designate her role from Private Secretary (Deputy Secretary level) to Private Secretary (Director level) within the same minister’s office. This re-designation is considered a personal measure for her.

The order, effective from the date she assumed the charge of the re-designated post, specifies that this re-designation is valid up to 05.09.2027 or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister, or until Anurima Sharma concludes her role as Private Secretary to the Minister, or until further orders are issued—whichever occurs earlier.

It is noteworthy that Anurima Sharma embarked on her central deputation tenure on September 06, 2012.

Awijit Rakshit prematurely repatriated to parent cadre

Awijit Rakshit (IRS-IT:2006), who holds the position of Director in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. A recent order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (14.02.2024) confirms that the competent authority has given approval to the proposal presented by the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals. This decision to repatriate Mr. Rakshit to his parent cadre is aimed at enabling him to avail the benefit of promotion.

Surendra Singh Kshatriya has been selected as Director (Finance), Mineral Exploration and Consultancy Limited (MECL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on February 13, 2024. Presently, he is serving as Group General Manager (Finance), Rites Limited.

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Finance) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Gujarat: Two IAS officers shited to Chief Electoral Officer’s office

The Gujarat government on Tuesday (13,02.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for two IAS officers. They have been appointed in the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer of Gujarat.

  1. Dr. Kuldeep Arya (IAS:2009:GJ), Additional Industries Commissioner is transferred as Additional Chief Electoral Officer in the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Gujarat.
  2. PD Palsana (IAS:2012:GJ), Joint Secretary of Agriculture, Farmers Welfare and Cooperation Department is transferred as Joint Chief Electoral Officer in Chief Electoral Officer’s office in Gandhinagar.

Chief Electoral Officer (CEO)’s office works for the Election Commission of India (ECI) in Gujarat. The office is responsible for arranging and executing the State assembly and parliament elections.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Anand Bardhan (IAS:1992:UK), Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Finance, Watershed, Housing, Chief Administrator, Uttarakhand Housing and Urban Development Authority, Agriculture Production Commissioner, Chief Project Director, Watershed, has been given charge of ACS, Personnel and Vigilance.
  2. Ramesh Kumar Sudhanshu (IAS:1997:UK), Principal Secretary, Urban Development, Forest, Environment and Climate Change, has been given charge of Principal Secretary (Revenue), Chief Minister.
  3. Shailesh Bagauli (IAS:2002:UK), Secretary to Chief Minister, Personnel and Vigilance, Higher Education, Information Technology and Science Technology, Information, has been relieved of his duties as Secretary, Personnel and Vigilance, and has been assigned to Home and Prison Affairs.
  4. Kurve Sachin Sharadchandra (IAS:2003:UK), Secretary, Tourism, Revenue, Civil Aviation, CEO of Tourism Development Board, has been removed from the position of Secretary-Revenue.
