SSB DG Daljit Singh Chaudhary gets addl. charge of DG of NSG

Daljit Singh Chaudhary (IPS:1990:UP), currently serving as the Director General (DG) of Sashatra Seem Bal (SSB), has been assigned the additional charge of Director General of the National Security Guard (NSG) for a period of three months. The Ministry of Home Affairs issued an order on February 27, 2024, stating that the competent authority has approved the additional charge following the superannuation of MA Ganapathy (IPS:1986:UK) on February 29, 2024. This arrangement is effective for three months or until the appointment and joining of a regular incumbent, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.

Former SC Judge A M Khanwilkar appointed Chairperson of Lokpal

Former Supreme Court judge A M Khanwilkar has been appointed as the chairperson of the anti-corruption ombudsman Lokpal on Tuesday, filling the position that remained vacant for nearly two years. The Lokpal had been operating without its regular chief since Justice Pinaki Chandra Ghose concluded his term on May 27, 2022.

Currently, Justice Pradip Kumar Mohanty, a judicial member of the Lokpal, is serving as the acting chairperson. The appointment of Justice Ajay Manikrao Khanwilkar as the chairperson of the Lokpal has been confirmed by a communique issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and President Droupadi Murmu has approved the appointment.

Justice Khanwilkar retired from the Supreme Court in July 2022. Additionally, retired justices Lingappa Narayana Swamy, Sanjay Yadav, and Ritu Raj Awasthi have been appointed as judicial members of the anti-corruption ombudsman. Sushil Chandra, Pankaj Kumar, and Ajay Tirkey are named as non-judicial members. These appointments will take effect on the dates when they assume charge of their respective offices, as mentioned in the communique.

The selection of the chairperson and members of the Lokpal is made by the President based on the recommendations of a Selection Committee, with the Prime Minister as its chairperson. The Lokpal can consist of a chairperson and up to eight members, divided into four judicial and four non-judicial positions.

Arkaja Das appointed as Director, M/o Women & Child Development

Arkaja Das (IPoS:2010) has been appointed to the post of Director in the Ministry of Women & Child Development. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (27.02.2024), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Das to the post under the central staffing scheme with effect from 01.03.2024 and for a period upto 26.10.2027 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Rupesh Kumar Thakur gets addl. charge of CVO of ESIC

Rupesh Kumar Thakur (IAS:2006:AGMUT), Joint Secretary & Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), Ministry of Labour & Employment, has been given additional charge of CVO, Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Delhi, for three months. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (27.02.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal for entrustment of additional charge of the post to Mr Thakur for a period of three months from the date of assumption of charge or till the appointment of a regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

In a significant overhaul of the police administration, the Jharkhand government on Tuesday (27.02.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for 24 IPS officers, encompassing positions of ADGP, IGP, DIGP, and SP ranks.

MP: Shanmukh Priya Mishra relieved for central deputation

Shanmukh Priya Mishra (IAS:2010:MP), who was serving as the Director of the Employees Selection Board in Bhopal under the Madhya Pradesh government, has been relieved of her duties. Her services have been transferred to the Government of India to facilitate her new role as Deputy Director at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, at the director level.

The Department of Personnel and Training issued orders on February 9 for her appointment as Deputy Director at LBSNAA on central deputation.

Following this, Satish Kumar S (IAS:2013:MP), currently holding the position of Managing Director at MP State Co-operative Dairy Federation Limited in Bhopal and ex-officio Deputy Secretary in the Animal Husbandry and Dairy Department, has been assigned the additional charge of Director at the Employees Selection Board.
