Chhattisgarh govt shuffles five bureaucrats

DGP appointment

The Chhattisgarh government on Friday (15.03.2024) released transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers and one IFS officer.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Sanjay Kumar Alang (IAS:2004:CG), Commissioner, Raipur Division, Raipur, has been given additional charge of Commissioner, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur.
  2. Shikha Rajput Tiwari (IAS:2008:CG), Commissioner, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Forest Department.
  3. Sharda Verma (IAS:2008:CG), Secretary, Finance with additional charge of Incharge Director, Budget, Commissioner, Higher Education, Mission Director, National Higher Education Mission, Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), has been relieved from the charge GAD.
  4. Kundan Kumar (IAS:2014:CG), Director, Urban Administration Department, has been given additional charge of Commissioner, Housing Board.
  5. Jagdish S (IFoS:2005:CG) has been posted as Director, Horticulture, Raipur.

ACC approves appointment of 7 CVOs in various organizations

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) on Friday (15.03.2024) approved the appointment of Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) in various organizations.

The appointed individuals and their respective assignments are as follows:

  1. Suresh Chandra Rajeev (ITS:1997) appointed as CVO of Directorate General of Civil Aviation and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (DGCA & DCAS), Delhi for three years.
  2. Pramod Kumar Choudhary (IRSS:1998) appointed as CVO of Telecommunications Consultants India Ltd. (TCIL), Delhi for three years.
  3. Manish Kumar Agarwal (ITS:1996) appointed as CVO of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Delhi for a period of three years.
  4. Hari Narayan Jangid (ITS:1995) appointed as CVO of Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd. (MDSL), Mumbai for three years.
  5. Bhavani Singh Yadav (ITS:1997) appointed as CVO of Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Delhi for three years.
  6. Rahul Subhash Jagtap (ISS:2000) appointed as CVO of Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilizers Ltd. (RCFL), Mumbai for three years.
  7. Sudipta Acharjee (ITS:1997) appointed as CVO of Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC), Kolkata for three years.

Lok Sabha poll 2024: Voting to be held from April 19 in 7 phases, results to be announced on June 4

Election Commission of India

The Election Commission of India on Saturday (16.03.2024) unveiled the schedule for the Lok Sabha polls. The elections will span 7 phases, commencing on April 19 and concluding on June 1, with vote counting slated for June 4.

Voting Schedule:

  • Phase 1: April 19
  • Phase 2: April 26
  • Phase 3: May 7
  • Phase 4: May 13
  • Phase 5: May 20
  • Phase 6: May 25
  • Phase 7: June 1

Results: June 4

The Chief Election Commissioner stated that the elections for 102 constituencies will occur in the first phase, 89 in the second phase, 94 in the third phase, 96 in the fourth, 49 in the fifth, 57 in the sixth, and 57 in the seventh phase.

Simultaneously, assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha will take place alongside the Lok Sabha elections, starting on April 19. The assembly polls for Andhra Pradesh are scheduled for May 13, Sikkim on April 19, Arunachal Pradesh on April 19, and Odisha on May 13.

Additionally, bypolls will be conducted for 26 Assembly constituencies simultaneously.

The Model Code of Conduct has been enforced immediately following the announcement of the schedule, as per the Election Commission’s declaration.

Just prior to the announcement of the Lok Sabha Election 2024 dates, the Bihar government on Saturday (16.03.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for IAS officer Abhilasha Kumari Sharma (IAS:2014:BH). Formerly serving as Additional Secretary in the Finance Department, she has been transferred to the position of Additional CEO at Jivika, Rural Development.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Sanjay Kumar (IAS:2011:BH), OSD, Governor Secretariat, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretaru, Governor Secretariat.
  2. Mahabir Prasad Sharma (IAS:2013:BH), OSD, Governor Secretariat, has been transferred and posted as Additional Secretary, Governor Secretariat.
  3. Amrisha Bains (IAS:2018:BH) has been posted as OSD, Energy Department.
  4. Himanshu Rai (IAS:2010:BH), Special Secretary, Planning and Development Department, has been given additional charge of Director, Panchayati Raj.
  5. Mukesh Kumar Lal (IA&AS), Special Secretary, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Director, Agriculture Department.

Bihar: Parmar Ravi Manubhai appointed BPSC Chairman

The Bihar government on Friday (15.03.2024) appointed senior IAS officer Parmar Ravi Manubhai (IAS:1992:BH) as the Chairman of the State Public Service Commission (BPSC). Parmar was previously serving as the Additional Chief Secretary of the Mines and Geology Department and is set to retire in November 2024.

Following the conclusion of BPSC chairman Atul Prasad’s (Retd.IAS:1987:BH) tenure on February 12, the General Administration department temporarily entrusted Imtiaz Ahmed Karimi, a commission member, with the chairmanship until a permanent appointment was made.

The chairman and members of the commission serve a term of either six years or until reaching the age of 62.

Haryana IPS Officer Amitabh Singh Dhillon empanelled for JS or Equivalent Posts in GoI

Senior IPS officer Amitabh Singh Dhillon (IPS:1997:HY) on Friday (15.03.2024) empanelled for the position of Joint Secretary or its equivalent at the central government level. Notably, a significant empanelment for Joint Secretary positions occurred on March 13, 2024, without Dhillon’s inclusion.

Earlier, on March 1, 2024, the Haryana government appointed Amitabh Singh Dhillon as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). In this capacity, Dhillon succeeded Shatrujeet Kapur (IPS: 1990: HY), who was the previous Director General of Police (DGP) of Haryana.

Delhi: Surendra Kumar Yadav relieved from Delhi Police for next assignment as DGP Chandigarh

Special CP Surendra Kumar Yadav (IPS:1997:AGMUT) on Friday (15.03.2024) relieved from his duties with immediate effect to assume his new assignment as DGP in Chandigarh. He was serving in the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi Police. This move follows the Ministry of Home Affairs’ decision on March 12 to appoint Mr. Yadav as the DGP of Chandigarh, thereby revoking its earlier appointment of Madhup Kumar Tiwari (IPS:1995:AGMUT) to the same position on February 9.

Delhi: Three senior IPS officers shifted; Nuzhat Hassan posted as Spl CP, EOW

The Delhi government on Friday (15.03.2024) enacted a minor reshuffle by issuing transfer and posting orders for three IPS officers.

The names of the officers and their posting are as follows;

  1. Ms. Nuzhat Hassan (IPS:1991:AGMUT), Special CP, Vigilance & Public Transport Safety Division, has been transferred and posted as Special CP, Economic Offences Wing (EOW).
  2. Rabin Hibu (IPS:1993:AGMUT), Special CP, Armed Police Division, has been transferred and posted as Special CP, Vigilance & Public Transport Safety Division.
  3. Ajay Chaudhry (IPS:1996:AGMUT), Special CP, Special Police Unit for Women and Children (SPUWAC) & Special Police Unit For North-Eastern Region (SPUNER), has been transferred and posted as Special CP, Armed Police Division with additional charge of SPUWAC & SPUNER.

7 IPS officers empanelled for IG level posts in GoI

Following the empanelment of 47 IPS officers to hold Inspector General/Inspector General Equivalent level posts in the Government of India ,the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, on Saturday (16.03.2024), approved the empanelment of an additional 7 IPS officers (2002 & 2003 batch) for similar roles.

They are;

  1. Harshitam Attaluri (IPS:2002:KL)
  2. Mrinalini Shrivastava (IPS:2002:SK)
  3. Dr. N Kannan (IPS:2002:TN)
  4. Santosh Kumar (IPS:2002:TN)
  5. Sonia Singh (IPS:2003:NL)
  6. Kavita Jalan (IPS:2003:OD)
  7. Shahanawaz Qasim (IPS:2003:TG)
