FSIB picks Girija Subramanian as CMD for NIACL, BS Rahul for UIICL

The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has selected Girija Subramanian as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the New India Assurance Company Ltd (NIACL), while Bhupesh Sushil Rahul will assume the role of CMD at United India Insurance Company Ltd (UIICL).

Girija Subramanian, currently serving as CMD of the Agriculture Insurance Company of India, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Bhupesh Sushil Rahul, a general manager at the Agriculture Insurance Company of India, has been selected to fill the vacant CMD position at United India Insurance following Satyajit Tripathy’s retirement in February 2024. Neerja Kapur’s tenure at New India Assurance is set to conclude in April 2024.

The selection process considered six general managers for the CMD positions. Alongside Subramanian and Rahul, candidates Hitesh Joshi, Jayshree Bala, V Balkrishna, Sunita Gupta, and Rekha Solanki were evaluated for leadership roles at United India Insurance. The selected candidates’ names will be forwarded to the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and subsequently to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.

Mohammad Yousuf Wani appointed as Additional Judge of J&K and Ladakh HC

The Union Government on Thursday (21.03.2024) appointed Mohammad Yousuf Wani as Additional Judge of J&K and Ladakh High Court for a period of two years.

The Supreme Court Collegium had approved the proposal for appointing Mohammad Yousuf Wani as Additional Judge of J&K and Ladakh High Court vide notification dated March 12, 2024.

Six Additional Judges made permanent in Kerala HC

The Union government on Thursday (21.03.2024) notified the appointment of six Additional Judges of the Kerala High Court as Judges of that High Court.

They are;

  1. Justice Mullapally Abdul Aziz Abdul Hakhim
  2. Justice Syam Kumar Vadakke Mudavakkat
  3. Justice Harishankar Vijayan Menon
  4. Justice Manu Sreedharan Nair
  5. Justice Easwaran Subramani
  6. Justice Manoj Pulamby Madhavan

The Supreme Court Collegium had approved the proposal for appointing the eleven Additional Judges of Karala High Court as Permanent Judges of the Court vide notification dated March 12, 2024.

Tushar Arun Karmarkar appointed as Deputy Secretary, Department of Health Research

Tushar Arun Karmarkar (IinfoS:2012), who was recommendation for central deputation tenure by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, has been selected as for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Health Research, Delhi, for period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (22.03.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Karmarkar to the post under the central staffing scheme for a period of four years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

V Radha gets extension as Additional Secretary of NITI Aayog till April 30

The central deputation tenure of V Radha (IAS:1994:MH) as Additional Secretary in NITI Aayog has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (22.03.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of deputation tenure of Ms. Radha beyond 29.03.2024 till 30.04.2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Vandana appointed as Director in D/o Chemicals & Petrochemicals

Vandana (IRS-C&CE:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Delhi, for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (21.03.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Vandana to the post under the central staffing scheme for five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Nikhil Saraswat appointed as Deputy Secretary, GeM

Nikhil Saraswat (IRS-IT:2014), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) under the D/o Commrece, Delhi, for a period of four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (21.03.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Mr. Saraswat to the post under the central staffing scheme for four years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Syed Zubir Husain Noqvi appointed as Deputy Secretary in DFS

Syed Zubir Husain Noqvi (IES:2011), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Economic Affairs (DFS), has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the DFS, Delhi, for a four-year term. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (21.03.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Mr. Noqvi to the post under the central staffing scheme, effective for four years or until further directives, whichever occurs first.

Hansha Mishra appointed as Director in UPSC

Hansha Mishra (IA&AS:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Delhi, for a period of five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (21.03.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Ms. Mishra to the post under the central staffing scheme for five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
