According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (26.03.2024) the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Department of Fisheries to extend the deputation tenure of Mehra for a period of two years beyond 10.03.2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Unmesh Sharad Wagh gets addl. charge of Chairman, JNPA
Unmesh Sharad Wagh (IRS-C&CE:2000), currently serving as Deputy Chairperson of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Chairperson (JS level) for a duration of six months. This appointment is effective from January 3, 2024, or until a regular appointment is made to the post, or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Supriya Patil Yadav gets extension as Joint Director of CBI
Supriya Patil Yadav (IPS:2004:MH), currently serving as Joint Director in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), will have her deputation tenure extended for an additional year. This decision was formalized through an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal presented by the DoPT to prolong Supriya’s deputation with the CBI for one more year, extending her tenure beyond April 17, 2024, until April 17, 2025.
S Suresh appointed as ADG in SPG
S Suresh (IPS:1995:KL) has been elevated to the position of Additional Director General (ADG) within the Special Protection Group (SPG). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Tuesday (26.03.2024), stating that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Home Affairs’ (MHA) proposal for his immediate repatriation.

However, Prashant Kumar (IPS:1990:UP) was ultimately appointed as the officiating DGP of the state.

FSIB names nine EDs for Public Sector Insurers
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) on Thursday (21.03.2024) announced the selection of nine executive directors to serve in various public sector general insurers. Among these appointments, Rashmi Bajpai and Amit Misra are set to assume the roles of executive directors at the Oriental Insurance Company. H J Joshi and Radhika C S have been chosen for similar positions at GIC Re, while T Babu Paul and C G Prasad will take on responsibilities at the National Insurance Company. Additionally, Sunita Gupta and P C Gothwal are slated to become executive directors at United India, with Dasarathi Singh selected for the same role at the Agriculture Insurance Company of India.
Following this selection process, the chosen candidates’ names will undergo further scrutiny and be forwarded to the Department of Financial Services (DFS) before reaching the final stage of approval by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
FSIB picks Girija Subramanian as CMD for NIACL, BS Rahul for UIICL
The Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) has selected Girija Subramanian as Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the New India Assurance Company Ltd (NIACL), while Bhupesh Sushil Rahul will assume the role of CMD at United India Insurance Company Ltd (UIICL).
Girija Subramanian, currently serving as CMD of the Agriculture Insurance Company of India, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Bhupesh Sushil Rahul, a general manager at the Agriculture Insurance Company of India, has been selected to fill the vacant CMD position at United India Insurance following Satyajit Tripathy’s retirement in February 2024. Neerja Kapur’s tenure at New India Assurance is set to conclude in April 2024.
The selection process considered six general managers for the CMD positions. Alongside Subramanian and Rahul, candidates Hitesh Joshi, Jayshree Bala, V Balkrishna, Sunita Gupta, and Rekha Solanki were evaluated for leadership roles at United India Insurance. The selected candidates’ names will be forwarded to the Department of Financial Services (DFS) and subsequently to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.
