MHA appoints five IPS officers as ADG in CAPFs/CPOs

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Tuesday (02.04.2024) announced the appointment of five IPS officers as Additional Director General (ADG) in the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs)/Central Police Organisations (CPOs). These officers were on December 26, 2023 empanelled to hold ADG or equivalent positions in the Government of India. They were previously serving in the capacity of Inspector General (IG) within the CAPFs/(CPOs).

The appointed officers are as follows:

  1. Satish Shriramaji Khandare (IPS:1995:AGMUT), who was serving as IG in BSF, has been reassigned as ADG in BSF.
  2. Padmaker S Ranipse (IPS:1995:OD), serving as IG in CRPF, has been appointed as ADG in CISF.
  3. Rajesh Kumar (IPS:2005:AGMUT), serving as IG in CRPF, has been appointed as ADG, CRPF.
  4. Ravi Joseph Lokku (IPS:1995:UP), serving as IG in BPR&D, has been appointed as ADG, BPR&D.
  5. Tsewang Namgiyal Kalon (IPS:1995:UP), serving as IG in SSB, has been appointed as ADG in BSF.

Chandani Gupta continues as CVO of Bridge & Roof Company India Ltd

Chandani Gupta (IES:2007), Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of The Braithwaite, Burn & Jessop Construction Company Ltd (BBJ), Kolkata, will continue to hold the additional charge of CVO of Bridge & Roof Company (India) Ltd. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (30.03.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for extension of additional charge of the post for a period beyond 15.12.2023 upto 15.12.2024 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Sheyphali Sharan assumes charge as Pr. DG, PIB

Sheyphali B Sharan (IIS:1990) on Monday (01.04.2024) assumed the charge of Principal Director General at the Press Information Bureau (PIB), succeeding Manish Desai (IIS:1989), who retired yesterday (March 31).

Throughout her distinguished career spanning more than three decades, she has held cadre portfolios of largely looking after media publicity work as Press Information Bureau officer for Ministries such as Finance, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. She has also served as the Spokesperson for Election Commission of India.

In addition, Sharan has contributed significantly to various departments through Central Staffing Scheme Deputations. She served as Director in the Ministry of Health (Department of Traditional Systems of Medicine/AYUSH) from 2002 to 2007, and in the Ministry of Finance (Department of Economic Affairs) from 2013 to 2017. She also held the cadre post of OSD (Information Policy) at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting from 2000 to 2002, and served as Director of Administration and Finance at LSTV, Lok Sabha Secretariat, from 2007 to 2008.

Vivek Kumar Singh appointed as Deputy Secretary in M/o Food Processing Industries

Vivek Kumar Singh (CWES:2012), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Delhi for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (01.04.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Vivek Kumar Singh to the post under the central staffing scheme for four years from the date of taking charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Ravinder Kumar appointed as Deputy Secretary in D/o Drinking Water & Sanitation

Ravinder Kumar (IAS:2012:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs , has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, Delhi for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (01.04.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Ravinder Kumar to the post under the central staffing scheme for four years from the date of taking charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Reena Ashis Dash appointed as Director in D/o Health and Family Welfare

Reena Ashis Dash (IRS-C&CE:2009), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Delhi for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (01.04.2024), the central government has approved the appointment of Reena Ashis Dash to the post under the central staffing scheme for five years from the date of taking charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Maharashtra: Chief Secretary Nitin Kareer gets three months extension

Maharashtra Chief Secretary Nitin Kareer (IAS: 1988: MH) was on Saturday given an extension for three months. The central government has approved a proposal of the state government to grant the extension to the senior Indian Administrative Services (IAS) officer from April 1 to June 30. Kareer had succeeded senior bureaucrat Manoj Saunik for the top post in December last year. He was due for retirement on 31 March.

Haryana: ECI transfers IPS Rajesh Duggal to non election related duties

IPS officer Rajesh Duggal (IPS:2010:HY), Joint Commissioner of Police Gurugram, has been recently promoted to the rank of DIG and subsequently transferred to DIG, Police Headquarters, Panchkula. The transfer has been initiated following the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

According to the ECI order, the Haryana home department has been instructed to refrain from assigning any election-related duties until the conclusion of the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. It’s worth noting that IPS officer Rajesh Duggal is the husband of BJP MP Sunita Duggal.

Punjab: Two IPS officers shifted, Jaskaran Singh posted as ADGP, Intelligence-II

The Punjab government recently issued transfer and posting orders for two IPS officers after in compliance with the Election Commission of India.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Jaskaran Singh (IPS:1998:PB), waiting for posting, has been posted as ADGP, Intelligence-II, Punjab.
  2. Narinder Bhargav (IPS:2008:PB), waiting for posting, has been posted as DIG, Vigilance Bureau, Ludhiana with additional charge of DIG, NRI, Ludhiana.
