Swapnendu Kumar Panda selected as Director (Planning & Project), NLC India Limited

Swapnendu Kumar Panda has been selected as Director (Planning & Project), NLC India Limited at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on May 30, 2024. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager, Group Head Bikaner, NTPC Limited

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Planning & Project) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

The following 08 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting:

  2. Jasper Rose I.S, Executive Director, NLC India Limited

WB: Four IAS officers shifted

Bengal govt sends list of IPS to EC

The West Bengal government has recently issued transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Rashmi Kamal (IAS:2006:WB), Director Land Records and Survey, West Bengal, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Land & Land Reforms and Relief & Rehabilitation Department.
  2. Vibhu Goel (IAS:2012:WB), Chief Executive Officer, State Rural Livelihood, has been transferred and posted as Director, Land Records and Survey, West Bengal.
  3. Divya Longnathan (IAS:2015:WB), Additional District Magistrate (Basirhat), North 24 Paraganas, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Health & FM Department.
  4. Akanksha Bhaskar (IAS:2015:WB), Chief Executive Officer, Asansol Durgapur Development Authority has been transferred and posted as Additional District Magistrate (Basirhat), North 24 Paraganas.

Rajasthan govt relieves IPS Vikas Pathak for central deputation

The Rajasthan government on Wednesday (29.05.2024) relieved IPS Officer Vikas Pathak (IPS:2005:RJ) from his duties as IG, Personnel, PHQ, Jaipur. His services have been placed under the Government of India for his appointment as DIG in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on a five-year deputation basis.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Home Affairs (DoPT) had issued his central deputation posting orders as DIG in ITBP on May 17.

Delhi govt relieves IAS Geetika Sharma for central deputation

The Delhi government on Wednesday (29.05.2024) relieved Geetika Sharma (IAS:2012:AGMUT) from the charge of GM, DTTDC. This move enable her to take up new assignment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines under the central staffing scheme for 4 years.

It is noteworthy that the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) had issued her central deputation posting orders as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Mines on May 1.

Centre clears transfer of two Delhi HC Judges

The Union government on Wednesday (29.05.2024) notified the transfers two Delhi High Court judges which were earlier recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium.

They are;

  1. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva to Madhya Pradesh High Court
  2. Justice V Kameswar Rao to Karnataka High Court

The Supreme Court Collegium on March 13 had recommended the transfer after the judges themselves requested for the same.

Vijay Khanduja appointed next High Commissioner of India to Cameroon

Vijay Khanduja (YOA:2004) was on Wednesday (29.05.2024) appointed as the next High Commissioner of India to the Republic of Cameroon. Presently, he is serving as Ambassador of India to the Republic of Zimbabwe and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Manish Chauhan appointed next Ambassador of India to Jordan

Diplomat Manish Chauhan (IFS: 1994) was on Wednesday (29.05.2024) appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Presently, he is serving as Ambassador of India to Portugal and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Previously, Manish Chauhan has held various diplomatic positions, including postings in Indian Missions in Beijing, Tehran, and Hong Kong, as stated by the Indian Embassy in Portugal.

He has also served in different capacities within the MEA in New Delhi, operating responsibilities related to the neighbourhood, external publicity, West Asia and North Africa Division, administration and personnel, right to information, as well as multilateral affairs.

Power Finance Corporation (PFC) Limited has been honoured with the Corporate Social Responsibility award in the Non-Fossil Fuel (NF) business category at the Outlook Planet Sustainability Summit & Awards 2024, held in Goa. Parminder Chopra, the Chairperson and Managing Director of PFC, received the award from V. Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India. West Bengal: Chief Secretary BP Gopalika gets three months extension

The central government on Monday extended the tenure of West Bengal Chief Secretary B P Gopalika (IAS:1989:WB) by another three months.

A communique from the Department of Personnel & Training, under the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, was sent to the state Secretariat Nabanna on Monday afternoon, informing the state about the approved extension.

Gopalika was supposed to retire on May 31. However, the state government requested an extension, citing that his retirement would occur before the seventh and final phase of the ongoing Lok Sabha polls on June 1 and the counting day on June 4. With the new extension, Gopalika will now retire on August 31.

Gopalika assumed the role of Chief Secretary on December 31, 2023, succeeding H K Dwivedi (IAS:1988:WB), whose extended term concluded on December 31, 2023.
