Tamil Nadu : 13 IAS officers shifted, S Nagarajan posted as Secretary (Expenditure)

After the Lok Sabha election, the Tamil Nadu government on Thursday (13.06.2024) effected significant bureaucratic reshuffle by issuing transfer orders for numerous IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their places of postings are as follows;

  1. Reeta Harish Thakkar (IAS:2002:TN), Secretary, Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department is transferred and posted as Secretary of Public and Rehabilitation Department.
  2. K Nanthakumar (IAS:2007:TN), Secretary, Public and Rehabilitation Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary of Human Resources Management Department.
  3. S Nagarajan (IAS:2005:TN), Secretary of Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Department and Secretary (FAC), Human Resources Management Department, has been transferred and posted as Secretary (Expenditure) in the Finance Department.
  4. Sigy Thomas Vidhyan (IAS:2002:TN), formerly Secretary, Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Department, on return from leave is posted as Secretary of the Welfare of Differently Abled Persons Department.
  5. E. Saravanavelraj (IAS:2008:TN), Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Housing Board, has been transferred and posted as the Commissioner of Geology and Mining.
  6. C. Vijayaraj Kumar (IAS:1998:TN), Principal Secretary/ Commissioner of Sugar and Chairman & Managing Director, Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary of the Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare Department.
  7. T. Anbalagan (IAS:2011:TN), Additional Commissioner of Sugar, has been transferred and posted as the Director of Sugar. He will also continue as the Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Sugar Corporation.
  8. Brajendra Navnit (IAS:1999:TN), formerly Ambassador & Permanent Representative to India to the World Trade Organization, Geneva, on return from leave is posted as Principal Secretary of Commercial Taxes and Registration Department. He will also function as the Officer on Special Duty, 16th Finance Commission
  9. G.S. Sameeran (IAS:2012:TN), Joint Commissioner (Works), Greater Chennai Corporation, is set to assume office as the Managing Director the Tamil Nadu Housing Board.
  10. V. Sivakrishnamurthy (IAS:2018:TN), Commissioner, Corporation of Erode, will take over as the Deputy Commissioner (Works) in the Greater Chennai Corporation.
  11. Pooja Kulkarni (IAS:2003:TN), Commissioner of Geology and Mining, will assume office as the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamil Nadu Infrastructure Development Board. She will continue to hold the post of Special Secretary in the Finance Department.
  12. P. Alarmelmangai (IAS:2019:TN), Additional Collector (Development)/ Project Officer, District Rural Development Agency, Salem, is set to take over as the Executive Director of GUIDANCE Tamil Nadu.
  13. Lalitaditya Neelam (IAS:2019:TN) will take over as the Additional Director (Development) of the District Rural Development Agency in Salem.

Bihar: 9 IAS officers shifted; KK Pathak is now ACS, Revenue & Land Reform

The Bihar government on Thursday (13.06.2024) enacted a significant reshuffle by transferring as many as nine IAS officers. Among the notable transfers is of KK Pathak, who held the position of Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) in the Education Department and was well-known for his controversial decisions. Pathak has now been appointed as the ACS of the Revenue and Land Reforms Department. Meanwhile, he will continue to hold additional charge of the Director General of the Bihar Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (BIPARD).

The names of the officers and their places of postings are as follows;

  1. KK Pathak (IAS:1990:BH), Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department with additional charge of DG, Bihar Institute of Public Administration & Rural Development (BIPARD) , Patna, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Land Reform Department with additional charge of DG, BIPARD.
  2. Dr. S Sidharth (IAS:1991:BH), Principal Secretary, Chief Minister Secretariat, with additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Chief Minister Secretariat, has been given additional charge of Additional Chief Secretary, Education Department.
  3. Deepak Kumar (IAS:1992:BH), Additional Chief Secretary, Revenue & Land Reform Department, has been transferred and posted as Additional Chief Secretary, Rural Development Department.
  4. Arvind Kumar Chaudhary (IAS:1995:BH), Principal Secretary, Finance Department, has been transferred and posted as Principal Secretary, Home Department with additional charge of Principal Secretary, Vigilance Department.

UP: Three IAS officers shifted, Dhananjay Shukla posted as Additional Commissioner, GST

The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday (12.06.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for three IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their places of postings are as follows;

  1. Dhananjay Shukla (IAS:2015:UP), Special Secretary, Personnel, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner, GST.
  2. Vijay Kumar (IAS:2018:UP), Special Secretary, Mining, has been transferred and posted as Special Secretary, Personnel.

Ex-IAS officer Abhishek Singh wants to re-join service, UP govt opposes

Former Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Abhishek Singh (IAS:2011:UP) has written to the Centre, expressing his wish to rejoin the service but a roadblock from the UP government which also shot a letter objecting to his reappointment.

Mr. Singh was removed from the post of an observer during the 2022 Gujarat Assembly election after a picture of him posing beside a government vehicle went viral on the internet. He then got suspended from the job following the incident, and in October 2023, he resigned from the service, citing personal reasons.

Praveen Kumar selected as MD, DFCCIL

Praveen Kumar has been selected as Managing Director (MD), Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on June 13, 2024. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director in the DFCCIL.

He will be appointed to the post of MD after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Amit Khare (Retd. IAS:1985:GJ) and Tarun Kapoor (Retd. IAS:1987:HP) have been appointed as Advisors to the Prime Minister in the PM’s Office for two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (13.06.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment of these officers to the post Advisor on contract basis for two years with effect from 10.06.2024 or until further orders.

Their appointment is in the rank and scale of Secretary to the Government of India.

PK Mishra to continue as Principal Secretary to PM Modi

PK Mishra (Retd. IAS:1972:GJ) to continue as Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (13.06.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment of Dr. P.K. Mishra to the post with effect from 10.06.2024. His appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders whichever is earlier.

During the term of his office, Mishra be assigned the rank of Cabinet Minister in the Table of Precedence, as per the order, and the terms and conditions of his appointment will be notified separately.
