Tamil Nadu: 56 IPS officers shifted

The Tamil Nadu government on Thursday (08.08.2024) implemented a major reshuffle in the police administration by issuing transfer orders for 56 IPS officers. The state government released two separate orders for this reshuffle: one transferring 24 IPS officers and another assigning new roles to 34 IPS officers.

Five IRS officers inducted in CBI as SPs

Five Indian Revenue Service officers from the Income Tax and Customs & Indirect Taxes cadres have been inducted into the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as Superintendents of Police (SPs) on a four-year deputation basis.

They are;

  1. Srishti Chaudhary (IRS-IT:2014)
  2. Navin Kumar Soni (IRS-C&IT:2014)
  3. Savyasachi Kumar (IRS-IT:2014)
  4. Sonawane Pankaj Rajaram (IRS-IT:2014)
  5. Rathod Krunal Chimanbhai (IRS-C&IT:2016)

ACC approves appointment of two EDs at Public Sector Banks

The Appointment Committee of Cabinet on Thursday (08.08.2024) approved appointment of two Executive Directors at Public Sector Banks. These appointments are likely to come into effect from the date of assumption of office.

They are;

  1. Beena Vaheed has been appointed as Executive Director of Bank of Baroda for three years. Presently, she is serving as Chief General Manager of Union Bank of India.
  2. Rajeeva has been appointed as Executive Director of Punjab and Sind Bank for three years. Presently, he is serving as Chief General Manager, Punjab National Bank.

On June 19, the Financial Services Institutions Bureau (FSIB) recommended the elevation of five Chief General Managers to the role of Executive Directors at various public sector banks for the upcoming year 2024-25, following interviews with 57 candidates. Those recommended include Beena Vaheed of Union Bank of India; Rajeeva and Amit Kumar Srivastava of Punjab National Bank; and S.K. Majumdar and D. Surendran of Canara Bank.

Anandji Prasad selected as Director (Technical), Western Coalfields Limited

Anandji Prasad has been selected as Director (Technical), Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) at a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on August 07, 2024. Presently, he is serving as Project Advisor (JS Level), Ministry of Coal.

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Technical) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

The following 10 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting:

Anshoo Pandey appointed Director in Ministry of Mines

Anshoo Pandey (IRTS:2006), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Railways, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Mines for five years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (08.08.2024), the central government has approved appointment of Mr. Pandey to the post for five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS Amit Meena appointed Deputy Secretary, M/o Skill Development & Entrepreneurship

IAS officer Amit Meena (IAS:2011:KL), who is presently on compulsory wait in the Department of Economic Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (08.08.2024), the central government approved the appointment of Mr. Meena to the post for a tenure of upto 31.03.2025 with effect from the date of assuming the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS Mahendra Kumar appointed Deputy Secretary, NITI Aayog

IAS officer Mahendra Kumar (IAS:2014:UP), who is presently on compulsory wait in the Department of Commerce, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the NITI Aayog. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (08.08.2024), the central government approved the appointment of Mr. Kumar to the post for a tenure of upto 18.06.2027 with effect from the date of assuming the charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

CBIC: Two Principal Commissioner/Commissioner grade officers get posting orders

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) on Wednesday (07.08.2024) issued posting orders for two Principal Commissioner/Commissioner of Customs and Indirect Taxes grade officers, who recently returned from deputation.

They are;

  1. Dheeraj Rastogi, (IRS-C&IT:1994) has been posted as Principal Commissioner, Delhi Customs, ACC (Import).
  2. Vishal Pal Singh (IRS-C&IT:2006) has been posted as Commissioner, Delhi Customs, (Airport & General).

Puneet Roy Kundal appointed as Ambassador of India to Portugal

Puneet Roy Kundal (IFS:1996) has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to Portugal. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

Haryana: Former CS Sanjeev Kaushal appointed Chairman of HPGCL

Former Chief Secretary Sanjeev Kaushal (Retd. IAS:1986:HY) has been appointed as Chairman, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Limited (HPGCL) replacing A K Singh (IAS: 1991: HY), Additional Chief Secretary, Energy Department, for a period of two years. Kaushal retired from the service on July 31, 2024.
