Dr. Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar assumes charge as DG of ASCI

Dr Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar (Retd. IAS:1982:AP) on Monday (19.08.2024) assumed charge as the new Director General of the Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI). The ASCI is an institution of excellence of national importance which was established in 1956. It is an autonomous, self-supporting, public-purpose institution with the objectives of a think-tank for policy inputs and to build the capacities of practicing professionals in the management of government and business enterprises.

Dr. Kumar has held various prominent positions throughout his distinguished 34-year career. He served as Joint Executive Officer and Executive Officer of the renowned Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Additionally, he was the Commissioner of Commercial Taxes and the Principal Secretary of the Agriculture & Cooperation, Marketing, and Housing Department. From 2006 to 2009, he also held the role of Secretary, Finance.

Dr. Kumar served as Principal Secretary and later as Special Chief Secretary to the Governor of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana from 2009 to 2016, a critical period during which the State of Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated. After retiring, he took on the role of State Election Commissioner for the newly formed state of Andhra Pradesh, serving from 2016 to 2021.

Andhra Pradesh: 10 IPS officers shifted

The Andhra Pradesh government recently issued transfer and posting orders for 10 IPS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Satya Yesu Babu (IPS:2011:AP), SP, Intelligence, has been transferred and directed to report at PHQ for further posting.
  2. Garud Sumit Sunil (IPS:2015:AP), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Group Commander, Geyhounds.
  3. Jagadeesh P (IPS:2017:AP), awaiting posting orders, has been posted as SP, Ananthapuramu.
  4. KV Murali Krishna (IPS-SPS:2017:AP), SP, Ananthapuramu, has been transferred and posted as Commandant, 16th Battalion, APSP, Visakhapatnam.
  5. KM Maheswara Raju (IPS-SPS:2017:AP), SP, Special Enforcement Bureau, has been transferred and posted as
    DCP, Vijayawada.
  6. Suneel Sheoran (IPS:2019:AP), SDPO, Parvathipuram, has been transferred and posted as Group Commander, Greyhounds.
  7. Rahul Meena (IPS:2019:AP), Assistant SP, Chinturu, has been transferred and posted as SRP, Guntakal, Anaanthapuramu.
  8. Shelke Nachiket Vishwanath (IPS:2019:AP), Assistant SP, East, Guntur, has been transferred and posted as SP, Intelligence.
  9. Pankaj Kumar Meena (IPS:2020:AP), Assault Commander, Greyhounds, has been transferred and posted as Assistant SP, Chinturu.
  10. Surana Ankita Meena (IPS:2021:AP), Assault Commander, Greyhounds, has been transferred and posted as SDPO, Parvathipuram.

Tamil Nadu: Two IAS officers shifted, G Lakshmipathy posted as JS to CM

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday (19.08.2024) issue transfer and posting orders for two IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. G Lakshmipathy (IAS), Collector, Thoothukudi, has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary to Chief Minister.
  2. K Elambahavath (IAS:2016:TN), Director of Public Libraries, has been transferred and posted as Collector, Thoothukudi.

Tamil Nadu: N Muruganandam appointed new Chief Secretary

The Tamil Nadu government on Monday (19.08.2024) appointed senior IAS officer N Muruganandam (IAS:1991:TN) as the new Chief Secretary of the state, replacing incumbent Shiv Das Meena (IAS:1989:TN).

Muruganandam has previously held several key positions within the Tamil Nadu government, including serving as the State Finance Secretary under the current administration.

The appointment follows the transfer of incumbent Chief Secretary, Shiv Das Meena, who is set to retire in October. On Sunday, Meena was appointed Chairman of the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority for a five-year term, replacing K. Gnanadesikan (Retd. IAS:1982:TN), whose tenure ended in February 2024.

Ajitesh Kumar gets extension as Director, Ministry of Coal

The central deputation tenure of Ajitesh Kumar (CPES:2006) as Director in the Ministry of Coal has been extended for one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (17.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Coal to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Kumar for one year beyond 04.09.2024 and upto 04.09.2925, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

ACC approves Sanjiv Ranjan’s foreign assignment as Secretary General of IORA Secretariat in Mauritius

Senior diplomat Sanjiv Ranjan (IFS:1993) will soon take up the foreign assignment as Secretary General of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Secretariat in Mauritius for a three-year term. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (August 17, 2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of External Affairs’ proposal to allow him to take up this assignment starting from January 1, 2025, including the period leading up to his superannuation on January 31, 2026.

Anuradha Thakur will continue to hold addl. charge of Director, SFIO

Anuradha Thakur (IAS:1994:HP), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, will continue to hold additional charge of Director, Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) for further three months. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (17.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Ministry of Corporate Affairs for entrustment of additional charge of the post to Ms. Thakur for further three months beyond August 1, 2024 or till a regular incumbent is appointed or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IPS Rahul Malik’s tenure as Director in MHA curtailed

The central deputation tenure of Rahul Malik (IPS:2009:AGMUT) as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs has been curtailed. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Saturday (17.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to curtail the deputation tenure of Mr. Rahul Malik under the central staffing scheme.

Punjab: Four IAS officers shifted, Kulwant Singh posted as DC, Moga

The Punjab government on Friday (16.08.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Kulwant Singh (IAS:2012:PB), Deputy Commissioner, Moga with additional charge of Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Moga, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Mansa.
  2. Vishesh Sarangal (IAS:2013:PB), Deputy Commissioner, Gurdaspur, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Commissioner, Moga with additional charge of Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Moga.

J&K: Nitish Kumar appointed as CID Head

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday (15.08.2024) appointed senior IPS officer Nitish Kumar (IPS:1999:AGMUT) as the new Head of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Nitish Kumar, previously serving as the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) CID, takes over from R R Swain, IPS (AGMUT: 1991), who has been relieved of the additional charge of the post.
