IPS Anand Prakash Tiwari appointed Deputy DG, NCB

IPS officer Anand Prakash Tiwari (IPS:2004:AM) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) in Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for five years. According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Tiwari to the post on deputation basis for five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IPS Vikash Burman appointed Deputy DG, ITBP

Vikash Burman (IPS:2008:BH) has been appointed as Deputy Director General (DDG) in Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) for five years. According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Burman to the post on deputation basis for five years with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

AS Sahney selected as Director (Planning & Business Development), IOCL

Arvinder Singh Sahney has been selected as Director (Planning & Business Development), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) in a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on August 20, 2024. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director (Business Development- Petrochemicals), IOCL.

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Planning & Business Development) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

The following 12 applicants were interviewed in the selection meeting:

M Suresh appointed interim Chairman of AAI

In a significant development, M Suresh was on Tuesday (20.08.2024) appointed as the interim Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) following the departure of Sanjeev Kumar (IAS:1993:MH) from his duties as AAI Chairman.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, M Suresh has been given additional charge for the post of Chairman, AAI for a period of 3 months w.e.f. 20.08.2024 or until a regular incumbent joins or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

M Suresh is currently serving as the Member, Air Navigation Services at the AAI.

Suresh is an Engineering Graduate in Electronics and Communication with a Master of Business Administration (HR). He also holds an International Airport Professional – IAP degree accorded by Airports Council International and International Civil Aviation Organization.

Before being appointed as Member, Air Navigation Services at the AAI, he was holding the charge of post of Executive Director (Aviation Safety) at Corporate Headquarters of AAI and discharging a strategic function of ensuring safety in aerodrome operation and air navigations services, developing and maintaining a safety management policy of AAI.

ACC approves term extension for three EDs serving in various PSBs

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet on August 17 approved the proposals of the Department of Financial Services to extend the terms of office of three Executive Directors serving in various Public Sector Banks.

They are;

  1. Joydeep Dutta Roy, Executive Director of Indian Overseas Bank, has been granted a one-year extension beyond October 20, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
  2. Asheesh Pandey, Executive Director of Bank of Maharashtra, has been granted a two-year extension beyond December 30, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
  3. Kalyan Kumar, Executive Director of Punjab National Bank, has been granted a two-year extension beyond October 20, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Gopal Prasad repatriated to parent cadre

Gopal Prasad (IES:2001), Internal Financial Adviser, Heavy Water Board, D/o Atomic Energy, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (20.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Department of Atomic Energy to repatriate Mr. Prasad to his parent cadre with the provision of extended cooling off.

Priya Ranjan gets ex-post facto approval for extended role as MD, NHB

Priya Ranjan (IFoS:1998), Joint Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, has received retrospective approval for the extension of his additional charge as Managing Director of the National Horticulture Board (NHB). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (20.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for ex-post facto approval of extension of entrustment of additional charge for the post to Mr. Ranjan for a period from 23.09.2023 to 22.09.2024 or till appointment of a regular incumbent to the post or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.

Bharat Maheshwari appointed PS to MoS Harsh Malhotra

Bharat Maheshwari (IFoS:2014) has been appointed as Private Secretary (PS) to Harsh Malhotra, Minister of State for Corporate Affairs. He will assume the charge of the post at Deputy Secretary level.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (20.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Mr. Maheshwari to the post of PS for the period up to 26.06.2026 (i.e. for the maximum admissible tenure of 7 years away from the cadre) with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or on co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as PS to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

IAS Ajay Kumar Garg’s tenure as DCO/DCR, Delhi extended

The central deputation tenure of Ajay Kumar Garg (IAS:2010:AGMUT) as DCO/DCR, Delhi has been extended for fifteen months. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (20.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Office of Registrar General of India to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Garg for period beyond 01.09.2024 and upto 31.12.2025 (6 years, 3 months and 30 days away from cadre) or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Additional Secretary of D/o Commerce Anant Swarup returns to parent cadre

Anant Swarup (IRPS:1992), Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industries, has been repatriated to his parent cadre. The competent authority on Tuesday (20.08.2024) approved his repatriation to parent cadre on personal grounds.
