CG: Four IAS officers shifted, Janak Prasad Pathak posted as Commissioner, Bilaspur

The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;

  1. Prasanna R (IAS:2004:CG), Secretary, Higher Education Department with additional charge of OSD, CG Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur, has been given additional charge of Commissioner, Higher Education.
  2. Neelam Namdev Ekka (IAS:2005:CG), Commissioner, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Ministry.
  3. Janak Prasad Pathak (IAS:2007:CG), Commissioner, Higher Education with additional charge of Mission Director, National Higher Education Mission, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur.
  4. Rajendra Kumar Katara (IAS:2013:CG), Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training with additional charge of In-charge Mission Director, State Literacy Mission, has been given additional charge of Mission Director, National Higher Education Mission.

Bihar: 11 IAS officers attached to GAD for further postings

The Bihar government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) put 11 IAS officers on a waiting list for further posting, until then, they will be attached to the General Administration Department (GAD).

They are;

Rajneesh Narang appointed interim CMD of HPCL

The Modi government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) appointed Rajneesh Narang as the interim Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) for three months, effective from September 1. He replaces Pushp Kumar Joshi, who is set to retire on August 31.

Narang is serving as Director (Finance) in the company and will hold the additional charge of the post of CMD till appointment of a regular incumbent.

Interestingly, an attempt to select Joshi’s successor failed on June 14 this year when PESB interviewed 8 candidates but failed to find a suitable candidate.

Pushp Kumar Joshi took charge of CMD of HPCL on May 8, 2022. Prior to that he was Director-HR of the Corporation from August 01,2012.

Satish Kumar Vaduguri appointed interim Chairman of IOCL

The Modi government Wednesday (28.08.2024) appointed Satish Kumar Vaduguri as the interim Chairman of Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) for three months, effective from September 1. Vaduguri, currently serving in the company as Director (Marketing), will replace Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, who is set to complete his extended tenure on August 31.

The headhunter PESB interviewed 10 candidates on May 16, 2023, but failed to find suitable candidate and recommended the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas to take an appropriate course of action for selection including the Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority.

On August 11, SCSC interviewed nearly a dozen candidates and is learnt to have recommended the name for a successor to Vaidya, but the ACC approval is still awaited.

Vaidya appointed Chairman of IOCL on July 1, 2020 and was set to retire on August 31, 2023, when he attained the age of 60 years. But in a rare move, he was re-employed on contract basis for one year beyond the date of his retirement i.e. with effect from September 1, 2023, till August 31, 2024.

The Bihar government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for 14 IAS officers.

Bihar: Who will be next DGP ? Vinay Kumar leads the race

The selection process of Bihar DGP has gained momentum following the appointment of incumbent Rajwinder Singh Bhatti (IPS:1990:BH) as Director General of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Wednesday. Three names are circulating in the power corridors of Patna. They are, Alok Raj (IPS:1989:BH), Shobha Ahotkar (IAS:1990:BH) and Vinay Kumar (IPS:1991:BH). Reportedly, Vinay Kumar is ahead in the race.

Vinay Kumar is serving as the DG of Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation while Alok Raj is posted as the DG, Vigilance Investigation Bureau. Shobha Ahotkar is the DG, Home Guards and Fire Services.

Amitabh Tripathi selected as Director (Commercial & HRD), WAPCOS Limited

Amitabh Tripathi has been selected as Director (Commercial & HRD), WAPCOS Limited in a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on August 28, 2024. Presently, he is serving as Senior Executive Director (Head of Centre for Hydropower), WAPCOS Limited

He will be appointed to the post of Director (Commercial & HRD) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.

Suvarna Deshpande Dash debarred from central deputation

Ms. Suvarna Deshpande Dash’s (IRPS:2002) appointment as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of ITI Ltd, Bengaluru has been cancelled and she has been debarred from kinds of central deputation for a period of five years w.e.f. May 30, 2024. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday, she is prohibited from obtaining cadre clearance for any foreign assignments or consultancies abroad during the debarment period, in accordance with current provisions and terms of para C(xi) of the CVO guidelines.

Ms. Dash was appointed as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of ITI Ltd in Bengaluru under the Department of Telecommunications by an order issued on May 30, 2024. However, she did not joined the post with in prescribed time period and informed to Ministry of Railways that she is not in position to take up her assignment owing to personal reasons.

Daljit Singh Chaudhary appointed DG of BSF

Senior IPS officer Daljit Singh Chaudhary (IPS:1990:UP) has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Border Security Force (BSF). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Wednesday (28.08.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment Mr Chaudhary to the post for tenure upto the date of his retirement on 30.11.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prior to this appointment, he was serving as DG of Sashatra Seema Bal (SSB) with additional charge of DG BSF.

Notably, on August 2, the incumbent DG of BSF Nitin Agrawal (IPS:1989:KL) was repatriated to his parent cadre Kerala and next day the charge of the post of BSF DG was given to Daljit Singh Chaudhary.

Bihar DGP RS Bhatti moved to CISF as DG

Senior IPS officer Rajwinder Singh Bhatti (IPS:1990:BH) was on Wednesday (28.03.2024) appointed as the new Director General (DG) of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment Mr Bhatti to the post for tenure upto the date of his retirement on 30.09.2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Presently, Bhatti is serving as Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar.

The post of CISF chief has been vacant since July 31 after the retirement of incumbent Nina Singh (IPS:1989:RJ). The additional charge of the post of CISF DG was given to CRPF DG Anish Dayal Singh (IPS:1988:BH).
