According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (29.08.2024), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Dharmender to the post under the central staffing scheme for four years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Reghu G appointed Deputy Secretary in MHA
IAS officer Reghu G (IAS:2011:OD) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for four years. Tarun Kumar Pithode appointed Director in M/o EF&CC
IAS officer Tarun Kumar Pithode (IAS:2009:MP) has been appointed as Director in the Ministry of Environment Forest & Climate Change (EF&CC) for five years. IRTS officer Vipul Singhal assigned new role in Railway Board
The Ministry of Railways on Thursday (29.08.2024) appointed Vipul Singhal (IRTS:2007) as new Director, Traffic Transportation (Freight & Fertilizer), Railway Board. He is currently serving as Director (Corporate Co-ordination), Railway Board.
Rajeev Sharma selected as Director (Operations), Troop Comforts Limited
Rajeev Sharma has been selected as Director (Operations), Troop Comforts Limited in a Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) meeting held on August 29, 2024. Presently, he is serving as General Manager (Operations), Troop Comforts Limited.
He will be appointed to the post of Director (Operations) after receiving vigilance clearances and approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.
Besides him, only one other candidate interviewed by the PESB. He was Kalyan Kumar Mazumdar, who is serving as General Manager (Operations & Marketing) at The Jute Corporation of India Limited.
Uttarakhand: Sushil Kumar appointed new State Election Commissioner
Former IAS officer Sushil Kumar (Retd. IAS:2005:UK) was appointed as the new State Election Commissioner (SEC) of Uttarakhand on Thursday. He assumed charge of the new assignment at the State Election Commission. The post of SEC had been vacant for the last eight months following the end of the tenure of former IAS officer Chandrashekhar Bhatt.
The appointment of Kumar assumes importance in the wake of upcoming elections of the urban local bodies (ULB) and three tier Panchayati Raj system.
Kumar started his career as an officer of Provincial Civil Services (PCS) and has worked on many positions in the State government. He retired as Garhwal commissioner last year.
IAS officer H Krishnanunni appointed PS to MoS Jitin Prasada
IAS officer H Krishnanunni (IAS:2012:TN) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Jitin Prasada, Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & Information Technology, for five years. His appointment specially pertains to Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Krishnanunni for the period of five years or on co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
He will assume of the post at Deputy Secretary level.
CG: Four IAS officers shifted, Janak Prasad Pathak posted as Commissioner, Bilaspur
The Chhattisgarh government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) issued transfer and posting orders for four IAS officers.
The names of the officers and their postings are as follows;
- Prasanna R (IAS:2004:CG), Secretary, Higher Education Department with additional charge of OSD, CG Institute of Medical Sciences, Bilaspur, has been given additional charge of Commissioner, Higher Education.
- Neelam Namdev Ekka (IAS:2005:CG), Commissioner, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur, has been transferred and posted as Secretary, Ministry.
- Janak Prasad Pathak (IAS:2007:CG), Commissioner, Higher Education with additional charge of Mission Director, National Higher Education Mission, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur.
- Rajendra Kumar Katara (IAS:2013:CG), Director, State Council of Educational Research and Training with additional charge of In-charge Mission Director, State Literacy Mission, has been given additional charge of Mission Director, National Higher Education Mission.
Bihar: 11 IAS officers attached to GAD for further postings
The Bihar government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) put 11 IAS officers on a waiting list for further posting, until then, they will be attached to the General Administration Department (GAD).

Rajneesh Narang appointed interim CMD of HPCL
The Modi government on Wednesday (28.08.2024) appointed Rajneesh Narang as the interim Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) for three months, effective from September 1. He replaces Pushp Kumar Joshi, who is set to retire on August 31.
Narang is serving as Director (Finance) in the company and will hold the additional charge of the post of CMD till appointment of a regular incumbent.
Interestingly, an attempt to select Joshi’s successor failed on June 14 this year when PESB interviewed 8 candidates but failed to find a suitable candidate.
Pushp Kumar Joshi took charge of CMD of HPCL on May 8, 2022. Prior to that he was Director-HR of the Corporation from August 01,2012.
