Senior IPS officer Amitabh Gupta appointed IG in ITBP

Senior IPS officer Amitabh Gupta (IPS:1992:MH) has been appointed as Inspector General of Police (IGP) in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Gupta to the post on deputation basis from the date of joining the post and upto 30.06.2029 i.e. date of his superannuation or till further orders, whichever is earlier.

Prior to his posting to ITBP, Amitabh Gupta was serving as Additional director general of police (ADGP), Special Operations, Maharashtra.

Although Gupta holds the rank of ADGP in the state, he was not empaneled as ADGP in the central government. So, he has been appointed as IG in ITBP.

NADA DG Ashish Bhargava repatriated to parent cadre

IAS officer Ashish Bhargava (IAS:2012:MP), Director General, National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), has been repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Department of Sports to repatriate Mr. Bhargava to his parent cadre.

Hemant Kumar Meena gets extension as Deputy Secretary, NITI Aayog

The deputation tenure of Hemant Kumar Meena (IFoS:2011:MH) as Deputy Secretary in NITI Aayog has been extended for one year. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal of NITI Aayog to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Meena beyond August 4, 2024 and up to August 4, 2025 (i.e. a combined tenure of 7 years outside the cadre at a stretch).

IRS officer Chandra Mohan Singh appointed PS to MoS Shantanu Thakur

IRS officer Chandra Mohan Singh (IRS-IT:2013) has been appointed as Private Secretary to Shantanu Thakur, Minister of State for Ports, Shipping & Waterways. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to appoint Mr Singh as Private Secretary for the period up to 14.01.2028 (i.e. for maximum admissible tenure of 7 years away from cadre) or on co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He will assume the charge of the post at Deputy Secretary level.

NCST Secretary Alka Tiwari repatriated to parent cadre

Senior IAS officers Alka Tiwari (IAS:1988:JH), currently serving as Secretary of National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), has been repatriated to her parent cadre of Jharkhand. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the repatriation of Ms. Tiwari to her parent cadre on personal grounds.

IAS officer Subodh Kumar gets extension as Director in Ministry of Ayush

The central deputation tenure of Subodh Kumar (IAS:2010:TN) as Director in the Ministry of Ayush has been extended for two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Kumar beyond October 10, 2024 and up to October 10, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The tenure of Harjot Singh Sandhu (IRTS:2011) as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has been curtailed. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal to curtail the tenure of Mr. Sandhu under central staffing scheme.

The central deputation tenure of Mritunjay Kumar Narayan (IAS:1995:UP) as Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner of India (RgiCCI), Ministry of Home Affairs has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved to extend the deputation tenure of Mr. Narayan beyond December 6, 2024 for a period up to August 4, 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the competent authority has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Power to repatriate Mr. Kumar to his parent cadre on personal grounds.

The central deputation tenure of Sandhya V Sharma (IAS:1995:TN) as Additional Secretary of Department of Space has been extended. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Tuesday (15.10.2024), the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has approved to extend the deputation tenure of Ms. Sharma beyond December 12, 2024 for a period up to October 3, 2025 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
