The Haryana government has reinstated two under-suspension IAS officers, Vijay Dahiya (IAS:2001:HY) and Jaibir Singh Arya (IAS:2009:HY), who faced separate corruption charges registered by the state anti-corruption bureau (ACB). The officers, who were placed under suspension after being arrested by the ACB in October, were granted bail in November. The government’s December 21 personnel department orders, revoking their suspension, state the reinstatement without prejudice to the outcome of the ongoing criminal proceedings. The state government had last month reinstated IAS officer Dharmender Singh (IAS:2012:HY), in November, after he was granted bail by a Faridabad court in an ACB corruption case.
SEBI approves appointment of Pramod Agrawal as Chairman of BSE
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved the appointment of former Coal India Chief, Pramod Agrawal (Retd.IAS:1991:MP), as the Chairman of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE). Effectively starting from January 17, 2024, Agrawal’s appointment follows the BSE Board’s endorsement on December 13. This move comes as the term of SS Mundra, Chairman, and Public Interest Director concludes on January 16, 2024. Agrawal, a retired IAS officer from the Madhya Pradesh cadre, previously served as the Chairman of Coal India from February 2020 to June 2023, bringing significant leadership experience to his new role at BSE. Mundra, former Deputy Governor of RBI, was appointed as BSE chairman in May 2022.
IAS Raghav Langer appointed Director, Department of Water Resources, RD & GR
IAS Officer Raghav Langer (IAS:2009:UK) has been appointed to the post of Director in the Department of Water Resources, RD & GR. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Monday (18.12.2023), announcing the appointment. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved Mr. Langer’s appointment under the central staffing scheme, effective from the date of assuming charge. The tenure is set until 03.10.2025 or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Dr. S Tejaswi Naik appointed Private Secretary to Union Minister Arjun Munda
Dr. S Tejaswi Naik (IAS:2009:MP) has been appointed as Private Secretary (PS) to Arjun Munda, the Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare and Tribal Affairs. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Monday (18.12.2023), announcing the appointment. The competent authority has approved Mr. Naik’s appointment as PS to the Minister for Agriculture & Farmers Welfare for a period up to 14.12.2027 or on a co-terminus basis with the Minister or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
JNPA CVO Vidyadhar Avinash Malegaonkar repatriated to parent cadre
Vidyadhar Avinash Malegaonkar (IRTS:1992), currently serving as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Jawahar Lal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA), Mumbai, has been granted premature repatriation to his parent cadre. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Wednesday (20.12.2023), stating that the competent authority has approved the proposal to repatriate Mr. Malegaonkar to his parent cadre. This move is aimed at enabling him to avail the benefit of promotion within his cadre.
Vinit Kumar gets addl. charge of CVO, Bharat Pumps & Compressors Ltd, Prayagraj
Vinit Kumar (IRS-C&CE:2013), currently serving as the Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) for Nepa Limited, Nepanagar (Madhya Pradesh), has been granted the additional responsibility of CVO for Bharat Pumps & Compressors Ltd. (BPCL), Prayagraj. As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (15.12.2023), the competent authority has approved the proposal for entrustment of the additional charge for a period of one year from the date of assumption of charge or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
Prof. Abhay Karandikar gets addl. charge of Secretary, Department of Biotechnology
Professor Abhay Karandikar, currently serving as the Secretary of the Department of Science & Technology, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of Secretary of the Department of Biotechnology. As per the order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (21.12.2023), this additional charge has been assigned from 22.12.2023 to 02.01.2024 during the period of leave of Dr. Rajesh S Gokhale.
Ritesh Chauhan will continue to hold addl. charge of MD, NAFED
Ritesh Chauhan (IAS:2005:HP) has been granted an extension to hold the additional charge of Managing Director (MD) at the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd. (NAFED). The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) issued an order on Thursday (21.12.2023), stating that the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare’s proposal for the extension of entrustment of additional charge. Mr. Chauhan will continue in this role from 01.08.2023 to 22.09.2024 or until further orders, whichever occurs earlier.
IRS Satyendra Kumar Mishra gets addl. charge of CMD, AIAHL
Satyendra Kumar Mishra (IRS-IT:1990), currently serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Civil Aviation, has been appointed to the additional responsibility of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of AI Assets Holding Ltd (AIAHL). The decision, approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, is in effect from 01.03.2023 to 31.12.2023, or until regular appointment to the post, or further orders, whichever occurs earlier. The order was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (21.12.2023).
Tripura: 14 State Civil Services officers appointed to Indian Administrative Service
In a significant development, the Government of India has appointed 14 members of the Tripura State Civil Services to the Indian Administrative Service. The appointments, based on a year-wise selective list covering 2018, 2019, and 2020, are on probation until further orders. The officers have been allocated the Tripura Cadre for their service.
