FSI Deputy Secretary SHK Murti repatriated to parent cadre

SHK Murti (IFoS:2013:AGMUT), currently serving as Deputy Secretary, FSI, Kolkata in the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC), has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (07.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to repatriate Mr. Murti to his parent cadre i.e. MoEFCC (AGMUT) on personal grounds with the condition of extended cooling off.

Kamaljit K Kamal appointed Deputy Secretary in O/o CEPI Mumbai

Kamaljit K Kamal (IRS-C&IT:2013) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Office of Custodian of Enemy Property of India (CEPI), Mumbai, under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He will replace Patil Prashant Sudamrao (IRS-IT:2011).

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (07.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Mr. Kamal to the post on the deputation basis for the period upto 24.11.2026, i.e. the tenure/validity of the above post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Vishwasree B appointed as Director in Tobacco Board, Guntur

Vishwasree B (IAS:2014:TR) has been appointed to the post of Executive Director (at Deputy Secretary level), Tobacco Board, Guntur, under the Department of Commerce, for four years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday (07.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the appointment of Ms Vishwasree on deputation basis for a period of four years from the date of assumption of charge of the post or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

She will replace Sridhar Babu Addanki (IAS:2008:UD) as he is set to conclude his tenure to this post on 11.03.2025.

Prashant Kumar Meena appointed as Additional Commissioner, NESTS

Prashant Kumar Meena (IOFS:2011), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Defence Production, has been selected for appointment as Additional Commissioner in the National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (06.02.2025), Meena will serve in the post for a period upto March 31, 2026 (i.e. combined tenure of five years on ex-cadre and CSS post put together) at Director level under the central staffing scheme.

Dr. Sudeepta Ghosh appointed as Director, MHA

Dr. Sudeepta Ghosh (ISS:2010), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Home Affairs for five years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (06.02.2025), Ms. Ghosh will serve in the post for a period of five years under the central staffing scheme from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Guriqbal Singh appointed as Deputy Secretary in MHA

Guriqbal Singh (IPS:2012:AGMUT), who was recommended for central deputation by the Ministry of Home Affairs, has been selected for appointment as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs for four years.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (06.02.2025), Mr. Singh will serve in the post for a period of four years under the central staffing scheme from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

SSC Controller of Examination Satish TJ re-designated as Director

Satish TJ (IDAS:2010), currently serving as Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination at Deputy Secretary level in the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), has been elevated to the Director level.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (06.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate his post to the Director level. This re-designation takes effect from the date of assumption of charge and will remain valid until August 31, 2028, completing a total tenure of five years at the Director level under the Central Staffing Scheme.

It is noteworthy that Satish TJ (IDAS:2010) began his central deputation tenure on September 1, 2023.

Deputy Jute Commissioner Neeraj Kulhari elevated to Director level post

Neeraj Kulhari (ICAS:2011), currently serving as Deputy Jute Commissioner in the Office of the Jute Commissioner, Kolkata, at the Deputy Secretary level, has been re-designated to the Director level.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (06.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the Ministry of Textiles’ proposal to elevate his post to the Director level. This re-designation takes effect from the date of assumption of charge and will remain valid until April 16, 2028, completing a total tenure of five years at the Director level under the Central Staffing Scheme.

Maharashtra: Sanjay Sethi appointed as Chairman of MSRTC

Breaking tradition, the Maharashtra government has for the first time appointed a bureaucrat to lead the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), a position traditionally held by a political representative.

The state government on Wednesday issued a gazette notification appointing senior IAS officer Sanjay Sethi (IAS:1992:MH) as Chairman of MSRTC following the resignation of Bharat Gogawale, who has been inducted into the state cabinet.

Sethi is currently serving as Transport Secretary and holds the rank of Additional Chief Secretary. In his capacity as Transport Secretary, he is already an ex-officio member of the corporation.

MSRTC is one of India’s largest public transport undertakings, operating around 14,000 buses and serving nearly 55 lakh passengers daily across the state. The corporation employs approximately 90,000 workers and has been facing financial difficulties, including rising losses, an aging fleet, employee strikes, and declining ridership.

Raghavendra Pal Singh appointed as Director in M/o Housing & Urban Affairs

Raghavendra Pal Singh (IRS-C&IT:2008), who was recommended for central deputation by the Department of Revenue, has been selected for appointment as Director in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Thursday (06.02.2025), Mr. Singh will serve in the post for a period upto 20.06.2027 ( i.e. five years combined tenure on ex-cadre and CSS put together at Director level) from the date of assuming charge or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
