Punjab: 21 IPS officers shifted, Dhanpreet Kaur is new CP of Jalandhar

The Punjab government has recently implemented major changes in the police administration. According to an order issued on February 21, 21 IPS officers have been transferred to new postings.

The names of the officers and their postings are as follows:

  1. Sudhanshu Srivastava (IPS:1994:PB), ADGP, Security, has been given additional charge of ADGP, Provisioning.
  2. Dhanpreet Kaur (IPS:2006:PB), IGP, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar.
  3. Jagdale Nilambari (IPS:2008:PB), DIG, Counter Intelligence, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Ludhiana Range, Ludhiana.
  4. Swapan Sharma (IPS:2009:PB), Commissioner of Police, Jalandhar, has been transferred and posted as DIG, Ferozepur Range, Ferozepur.
  5. Gurmeet Chauhan (IPS:2011:PB), AIG, AGTF, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Ferozepur.
  6. Akhil Chaudhary (IPS:2012:PB), AIG, Presonnel-II, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Sri Muktsar Sahib.
  7. Surendra Lamba (IPS:2013:PB), SSP, Hoshiarpur, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Personnel-I.
  8. Charanjit Singh (IPS:2013:PB), SSP, Amritsar Rural, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Intelligence, SAS Nagar.
  9. Dayama Harish Kumar Omprakash (IPS:2014:PB), SSP, Gurdaspur, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Intelligence, SAS Nagar.
  10. Saumya Mishra (IPS:2014:PB), SSP, Ferozepur, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Personnel-II.
  11. Sandeep Kumar Malik (IPS:2015:PB), SSP, Barnala, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Hoshiarpur.
  12. Ravjot Grewal (IPS:2015:PB), SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib, has been transferred and posted as AIG, Technical Services.
  13. Navneet Singh Bains (IPS:2015:PB), SSP, Ludhiana Rural, has been transferred and posted AIG, Crime.
  14. Ankur Gupta (IPS:2016:PB), DCP, Law and Order, Jalandhar, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Ludhiana Rural.
  15. Ashwini Gotyal (IPS:2016:PB), AIG, HRD with additional charge of SSP, Khanna, has been relieved of the charge of SSP, Khanna.
  16. Shubham Agarwal (IPS:2018:PB), DCP, Investigation, Ludhiana, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Fatehgarh Sahib.
  17. Aditya (IPS:2018:PB), DCP, Hqrs, Jalandhar, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Gurudaspur.
  18. Maninder Singh (IPS:2019:PB), ADC, Governor, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Amritsar Rural.
  19. Mohd. Sarfaraz Alam (IPS:2019:PB), SP, City Patiala, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Barnala.
  20. Dr. Jyoti Yadav (IPS:2019:PB), SP, Investigation, SAS Nagar, has been transferred and posted as SSP, Khanna.
  21. Randhir Kumar (IPS:2019:PB), SP, Investigation, Ferozepur, has been transferred and posted as ADC to Governor.

YK Sailas Thangal appointed India’s envoy to Kazakhstan

Senior diplomat YK Sailas Thangal (IFS:1996) was on Monday (24.02.2025) appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan. Presently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and is expected to take up the assignment shortly.

In a statement, the MEA said,” Shri YK Sailas Thangal (IFS: 1996), presently Additional Secretary in the Ministry, has been appointed as the next Ambassador of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan.”

“He is expected to take up the assignment shortly,” the statement added.

Jafar Malik appointed Dy Secretary, Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan

Jafar Malik (IAS: 2013: KL) has been appointed as Deputy Secretary in the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) on a lateral shift basis, leading to the curtailment of his tenure as Deputy Secretary in the Department of Commerce.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (24.02.2025), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved his appointment as Deputy Secretary in DAJGUA under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. His tenure will be effective from the date he assumes charge and will continue until September 2, 2028—the remaining period of his four-year Central deputation at the Deputy Secretary level under the Central Staffing Scheme—or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Telangana: Five IPS officers shifted, P Viswaprasad posted as Add CP, Crimes, Hyderabad City

The Telangana government on Saturday (22.02.2025) issued transfer and posting orders for five IPS officers.

The names of officers and their posting are as follows;

  1. P Viswaprasad (IPS:2005:TG), Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Crimes, Hyderabad City.
  2. Dr. B Naveen Kumar (IPS:2008:TG), Awaiting posting orders, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, CID, Hyderabad.
  3. Dr. Gajarao Bhupal (IPS:2008:TG), Deputy Inspector of Police, Co-Ordination, Hyderabad, has been transferred and posted as Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad.
  4. D Joel Davis (IPS:2010:TG), Joint Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Cyberabad, has been transferred and posted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Hyderabad City.
  5. Sirisetti Sankeerth (IPS:2020:TG) is retained as ADC to Governor, Telangana in the rank of Superintendent of Police.

D Mahesh Kumar (IFoS:2011:KN), currently serving as Deputy Director in the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) at the Deputy Secretary level, has been re-designated as Deputy Director (Senior), with his post upgraded to the Director level.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (24.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Ms. Contractor’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the re-designated post, and for a period up to November 11, 2029, i.e. total tenure of five years, under the central staffing scheme.

It is noteworthy that D Mahesh Kumar began his central deputation tenure on November 12, 2024.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (24.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Ms. Pandey’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the re-designated post, and for a period up to June 7, 2027, i.e. total tenure of five years, under the central staffing scheme.

It is noteworthy that Richa Pandey began her central deputation tenure on June 8, 2022.

Sandeep Kumar Singh (IAS:2011:AGMUT), currently serving as the Private Secretary to Minister for Culture & Tourism, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, at the Deputy Secretary level, has been re-designated as Director in the Ministry of Culture.

According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Monday (24.02.2025), the competent authority has approved the proposal to re-designate Mr. Singh’s post to Director level with effect from the date of assumption of charge of re-designated post and for a period upto September 30, 2026 or on co-terminus basis with the Minister or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

It is noteworthy that Sandeep Kumar Singh began his central deputation tenure on October 1, 2021.
